Review: Hearts and Thorns

Image
Hearts and Thorns by Ella Fields My rating: 5 of 5 stars Loved! This book was not (well to me anyway) not as gut wrenching as some of Ella's other books.... but it still packed a punch. Literally I felt like I was punched in the stomach! This story of step siblings falling in love is one that I can see people having a hard time getting behind, especially since they actually grew up together. And at some point Jackson turns into this total jerk face that I just wanted Willa to slap him! And at times I wanted to shake Willa so that hopefully she would actually smack him.... he totally deserved it on more than one occasion. There were a few heart breaking moments, and they made me tear up a bit. This story was a great telling of their struggles. Definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who doesn't have an issue with the step siblings aspect. View all my reviews

Review: Gabe and Ian

Image
Gabe and Ian by Lane Hart My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow! This book was not what I was expecting.... and I mean that in a absolute best way! I was totally expecting a MM book.... but then Quincey happened! And she was freaking awesome! She was just about the best kind of female! I was quite intrigued before this book about how the story of Gabe and Ian was going to work out.... better than I could have imagined! This MC is just so awesome! And I love that we keep hearing from previous couples and you get the idea that they are all one big happy family! There has been no book in this series that I have not completely loved! Love the Savage Kings! Loved loved loved Gabe and Ian AND Quincey! They were so great! And the building of the relationship was a totally genius way to go about things! View all my reviews

Review: Show Me Something

Image
Show Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow! I am so surprised that I had not read this one yet (especially since I read all the other books in the series right when they came out) It is so funny that Mark and Juliette had never met until now.... I mean, you would think that their paths would have to have crossed already! But no.... and she introduced herself in epic Juliette fashion! Then of coarse Mark had absolutely no choice but to find it both amusing and super sexy! When you get to read a story about 2 people getting together, and they were both a huge part in helping some of you favorite couples get together, you can not help but get super emotionally involved! Mark and Juliette's story was so heartfelt and wonderful.... I had so many feeling while reading this book! It was totally worth the wait to see Mark get his HEA after the heartbreak you heard about his suffering all the way back in Tell Me Something! I am so b...

Review: The Scarlet Night

Image
The Scarlet Night by Nicole French My rating: 4 of 5 stars Holy freaking hotness! 🔥🔥🔥  I mean... I knew that Zola was going to be hot, but this little bit of him totally set me on fire!  I can not wait to hear more about him and Nina!  I love her so and I really want to see her happy..... but with Nicole's history with her other books... I already know I am going to be gutted before I see that happiness!  And I will love every gut wrenching minute of it! View all my reviews

Review: Mean Girl

Image
Mean Girl by Kate Baum My rating: 5 of 5 stars I have been a big fan of the Girl Series dating back all the way to Grace and Vinnie! I love this series. It's about a group of 4 ladies who go their separate ways and still stay close.... now we are venturing into the people that some of them have met when after they have moved away and made new friends. Cassandra was raised by an unconventional mother, who had her believing that relationships and love are a bad thing and make you weak. Then there is Lukas.... single dad who was left by his son's mother. These 2 both obviously have trust issues. This is the story of how they work through them. And Benny (Lukas' son) is just the cutest! This book had a slow burn feel to it and once those flames take hold... you quickly find that it was TOTALLY worth the wait! These 2 are H-O-T  🔥🔥🔥.   Watching the relationship between Benny and Cassie was just as fascinating to read about (in a different...

Review: Unstable

Image
Unstable by Danielle Leneah My rating: 5 of 5 stars Gah!!! Another great installment in the Donnelly Bootcamp series! Man! When will Nadi and Aerick catch a break? These 2 need a chance to just BE. That just doesn't seem to be in the cards for them as of yet.... hopefully some day. Meanwhile this book was packed with some action and suspense! And some of these things you don't even see them coming at all! I can not wait to get the next book! This one didn't end on a major cliffhanger.... but with serious implication that there is so much more to come from these characters! I, for one, am on pins and needles waiting for July 2020!!! Review: Misassumption

Image
Misassumption by Nicole Dykes My rating: 5 of 5 stars I am a whole hot mess of emotions after this one. I was not expecting the story that I went blindly into! Eve Adamson is totally my book sister! I know the things she goes through because I have also been through them. Which may be why her story hit me so hard..... but the men in her life had me reeling in so many different ways! There were some things that these men did that really made me so freaking angry..... and I will not even talk about how much I detest Morgan.... I think she is a spoiled little witch and I do not know if I will ever be a fan of hers.... but since I think that Nicole may write her story as well I may have to read more about her. But that is a whole other story for another time.... back to Eve! She is so strong and she doesn't know it at all. I am just in complete awe of the way that she handles herself in all situations. She is who she is and she does not apologize for...

Review: Iron Crowne

Image
Iron Crowne by C.D. Reiss My rating: 5 of 5 stars It was a bit of a slow start for me.... but once it got going I was all in! Getting mad at the adulting I needed to do and everything! Byron was absolutely HOT AF! And the things that he does to go about getting Olivia to believe that he could be a good father were super swoon worthy....while he is telling her that he can't love her..... and I am so ready to read Logan's story! After some of the crap that he pulled in this book I can not wait to see some woman bring him to his knees! It was such a great book! I really loved all of the people that were involved and I would totally love to hear so much more about so many of them! Can't wait for the next book! View all my reviews

Review: Rock Star, Interrupted

Image
Rock Star, Interrupted by S.M. Shade My rating: 5 of 5 stars So... that just happened! I ended the book with my heart pounding so hard. Axton and Naomi are seriously hot.... and then cold... and then hot again. Ugh! I love them! And Caden is just so freaking cute! I am waiting on pins and needles to get the next book.... that ending! Left me asking so many questions! Such a great read. And it was with an ending that I didn't see coming at all! View all my reviews

Review: Ruin

Image
Ruin by Laurelin Paige My rating: 5 of 5 stars Ok I am so on the boarder.... after the Fixed trilogy I did not think that there was any way that I could come to like Celia. After Rivalry I was feeling bad for her. This man that she married, she knew he was not good.... but she thought that she could seduce him into being what she needed him to be, and when that didn't work I actually felt kind of bad for her because I felt like he was sending mixed signals and then she would take a leap just to fall and then crash on her face (again). Slay brought a whole new emotion out of me. After hearing more about her story, I don't like her yet.... but now I am not feeling bad for her like I was before.... But I feel like I better understand her and how she got into the situation she was in. And this is only the 2nd book of 4! I am quite sure that I will be a Celia fan by the time I get through with the 4th book and then I will have to go back and read ...

Review: Famous

Image
Famous by Leigh Lennon My rating: 5 of 5 stars 🔥🔥🔥 Loved this book so so much!  By far my favorite of the series!  Dane and Cami are perfect.... Add Miles to the mix and it's just everything!  Miles seems like he's going to be all hard and a hole like ... But they soften him up quite easily!  Due to both sides having been hurt before, I thought the extra emphasis on the building of this relationship was perfection!  Cami and Dane already having kids means that Miles would be moving into a ready made family.... And I think that's just the kind of stability he needs!  I can not even tell you how much I loved this story!  I really could have spent so much more time with these 3 😍 View all my reviews

Review: Beg for Mercy

Image
Beg for Mercy by L.A. Hart My rating: 5 of 5 stars I was pulled in from page 1. The only reason why I didn't finish same day was because.... well adulting! But damn Maddie and Aric are FIRE!!! I love them! They are freaking perfect together! The whole enemies to lovers thing was really working for them. I really loved how Aric's parents were... they were super supportive of whatever he wanted to do as long as it wasn't just being a bum. Then there were the side people... they were fascinating AF! I can not wait to get to their stories! I bet they have some REALLY good ones to tell! Especially Hannah! I am really intrigued by what she has to tell us! Great start to what I think is going to be a very entertaining series!!! View all my reviews

Review: Mr. Marshall's Method

Image
Mr. Marshall's Method by Jessa York My rating: 5 of 5 stars YES!!!!! I am so in love with this book! Evan and Holly have such an adorable story! And there is heartbreak, as there always will be with teacher/student romance because its "forbidden" and the wrong person always finds out. But they key to the story is if they can find their way through that heartbreak. You think that Evan and Holly do and they things will be all sunshine and roses and that they will live happily ever after..... but then he has to leave. And then there is some more heartbreak... and I cried. Yep! I cried! While sitting at work reading (we wont talk about how I should have been working....) I had to STOP reading to feel the emotion out and when I could finally dry my eyes I went right back to it. And then cried again. I am not going to tell you how this ends, you are going to have to read it yourself to see what happens.... but I am telling you Jessa York has ...

Review: Venom

Image
Venom by Dee Garcia My rating: 5 of 5 stars Ok so I have to say this.... I am not usually a PNR fan. But I liked the premise of this story and thought I will give it a try! I am so freaking glad that I did! I freaking loved this story! It felt like it was starting a bit slow but when it picked up.... it took off! I was all in.... not wanting to put it down... sneaking read time at work...all of it! I am really enjoying the world of Rosewood. I am totally in...I want more! Dee Garcia pulled me into this world of paranormal beings and I was ALL HERE FOR IT! These kinds of books usually don't hold my interest at all.... but Dee manages to keep me engrossed in their world the entire time! I wish I had more time with Tinks and Hook! But I am also just as excited to see what stories the others have to bring! (and if I get bits and pieces of what Hook and Tinks are up too that will be even more awesome) Yes I would recommend this book! I already have an...

Review: Curves Ahead

Image
Curves Ahead by Andi Jaxon My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow! When Andi Jaxon said "curves ahead" I did not take that at all as the warning it should be! I was waiting for Kristen and Alex's story! MAN! Did I want it! And I totally got just what I wanted.... these 2 were not the kind of couple you would see as working out. But you could just tell that when they finally get together it would be explosive! And damn it was!!! I really loved how protective he was over her. And how he made her feel safe. I was reading this book all day while I was supposed to be working... I could not put it down....so I started and finished it in a day. The curves that are thrown at you in this book are jaw dropping... and I gasped on more than one occasion! All the love for this book!!! View all my reviews

Review: Cross your Heart

Image
Cross your Heart by Haley Jenner My rating: 5 of 5 stars Do you ever finish a book that took you on such a journey that you immediately think "I want to read that again"? Well that is how I am feeling about Cross Your Heart by Haley Jenner. It is no secret that I am a HUGE fan of the friends-to-lovers story so this book was right up my alley. I expected a bit of unrequited love.... some angst.... what I did not expect was for it to hit me so freaking hard before I was even through 25% of the book that my eyes were in tears and I felt like my heart had plummeted into my stomach. Yeah! That hard hit! And the story also touches on a subject that people don't really associate with adults.... but bullying of adults is real! This story takes you through Roxy's journey making her way through the touch criticism of Hollywood.... and then there is Reid... swoon-worthy, jerk face, infuriating Reid! This book had my heart from the very beginni...

Review: The Love Trap

Image
The Love Trap by Nicole French My rating: 5 of 5 stars For the love of all that is Nicole French awesomeness!!! What the heck did I just read? The conclusion of the Quicksilver trilogy was everything I didn't even know I wanted it to be! I had so many feelings while reading this book! There were some parts that caused some very real physical reactions in me. There was so much suspense in this trilogy and this final book wrapped it all up! My head is still reeling from some of the things that happened.... and let's just say that there were some things that I totally did NOT see coming! All the love for this trilogy. Nicole French's story telling made this conclusion totally worth the wait! Her books are decent length... and yet I almost always mange to finish them in a day! I can not wait to see what she brings us next!!! View all my reviews

Review: Dreams of 18

Image
Dreams of 18 by Saffron A. Kent My rating: 5 of 5 stars Saffron A Kent has this way of pulling you into a story and making you feel like these are your people! And in case you haven't been able to tell.... she is a bit of a fan of the older man/younger woman thing! I am a HUGE fan of Violet's! She is just the most awesome person. She had some issues....and she was letting them define her. But what she didn't realize is that while they were defining her and she was also changing their definition without even realizing it! And Mr. Edwards! Swoony.... jerk-faced Mr Edwards! If ever there was a more obtuse man I would be oddly surprised! I love the dynamic between them. They work so well together! They just need to realize it! Oh....and BRIAN!!! Man oh man..... please tell me we will get Brian's story too! I want her best friend to have a HEA! He needs one!!! And that mother of Violet's is smack worthy! If I could jump into a book and...

Review: Serenading Heartbreak

Image
Serenading Heartbreak by Ella Fields My rating: 5 of 5 stars Whew... that was a ride! Ella never fails to make my heart feel it all. In this story where you have Stevie trying to decide between 2 men, you have 2 men who keep leaving her. How in the world is she supposed to trust any of them? And at that how is she supposed to trust another man in general? As much I was frustrated with this whole story I was totally #TeamStevie all the way! I was rooting for HER! For the first time in the history of my reading, I did not care who she chose because I was all about HER! I wanted HER to get her HEA. I didn't care which one it was with, of if either of them at all! I wanted her to choose HER in whatever way that manifested itself! I really loved how it all came together. I love this book! Every tear that I cried brought me more and more in love with this story! And honestly it is a story that people need to read. There is a lot of realism with this st...

Review: Cooper

Image
Cooper by Lane Hart My rating: 5 of 5 stars What is sexier than a hot man taking care of a baby??? Nothing! That's what! And Cooper takes that to a whole new level because it wasn't even his baby! (you may know the story if you have read the other Savage Kings novels). I have been waiting for this book because I wanted to see how his situation would play out and what he would let happen with it all. I think that he is very well suited for Liz! And honestly while I understand her reservations it is INSANE how long she made him wait before she would give him an honest chance! And Cooper has got the be just about THE most patient Savage King there is! This was another great Savage Kings story and I can not wait to get more from this club!!! View all my reviews

Review: Redemption

Image
Redemption by Nicole Dykes My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh my heart! This story of Logan and Quinn is just the sweetest and devastating all at the same time! They are friends since they were super young.... and then they get separated by circumstances only to find one another again later. While this is all going on they THINK that fate is not on their side, but I saw it differently! They love they share (even before either of them will admit it) is so sweet and pure! They both were at such a disadvantage since they spent their youth in the worst kind of family situations that neither of them really think that they are ACTUALLY capable of real love! This story was painful at times, but over all a complete joy to read! View all my reviews

Review: Another

Image
Another by Fiona Cole My rating: 5 of 5 stars ⚠⚠⚠Caution!⚠⚠⚠ Reading this book may cause your ovaries to explode!💥  Holy swoon-fest!  I am a hot mess!  Ian is just the freaking most perfect baby daddy!  This book had me swooning.... and crying.... and sighing.... and daydreaming!  Whew!  If you have read Lovers (not that you NEED to....but I highly recommend it!) you know that Carina is a total kick ass woman who is MORE than capable of taking on the task of motherhood alone!  But she doesn't need to!  From the minute that Ian realizes that she is pregnant with his baby he does not want to miss another second of anything!  (swoon) This story was not angsty, it was just about the sweetest thing I have read in a while.  And while I did cry some (it was hard not to at some points) it was not because I was feeling a complete and total heartbreak!  There was, of coarse, a misunderstanding that had to ...

Review: Fade

Image
Fade by Ashley Munoz My rating: 5 of 5 stars 😍 Awww... Laney and Jackson!  Their story is just as fantastic as I thought it would be!  I am not even going to lie.... there was a time or 2 when I wanted to back hand Jackson!  It was really frustrating to me 😒 when he would try to be there for her, kiss her, touch her.... basically not let her move on despite the fact that he ultimately wanted her to move on.  And all because he was jealous!  Jealous of the waiter.... then jealous of a guy that she knew before him.... I honestly was thinking to myself "How self centered can this guy get???"  The only reason why I did not write him off a lot sooner was because I knew how good his heart was from the part he played in helping Jimmy and Ramsey get together (in Glimmer.... if you haven't read it.... DO IT!!!)  I had never read anything by Ashley Munoz until this week and then I totally went on a binge!  I love these books....

Review: At First Fight: A Fade Novella

Image
At First Fight: A Fade Novella by Ashley Munoz My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oooooh! This was very enlightening..... Do you ever read a book and know that the other characters are going through their own life issues and wonder what they are? And then the author just goes right into writing a book for them that tells you nothing about what happened during the book that introduced them? Well this is the book that tells you what happened!!! I was so intrigued when I read Glimmer about the other couple that seemed to have some sparks prickling the air.... and this novella tells you what happened during the time that all was happening with Jimmy and Ramsey. I am even more excited now to get into Fade!!! View all my reviews

Review: Glimmer

Image
Glimmer by Ashley Munoz My rating: 5 of 5 stars So the biggest problem with this book was that it ended.... It is a very long book that goes by so fast. I spent the first half of the book just savoring it all....taking the time to basque in the glory of new found love.... but Jimmy and Ramsey were so back and forth. But when they were on ... THEY WERE ON! Some of the sweetest moments! Then some where along the way I got wrapped up in the MC part of the story and then I couldn't get through the pages fast enough! I needed to know what was going to happen next. Then just when you think that bad stuff is over and they are going to find their way back to each other, something else happens to bring them back apart. All of the characters in this story were completely lovable! Even when you wanted to ring Jimmy's neck for being a dill whole.... you still loved him. (And don't even get me started on my love for Jackson and Laney!) But from the st...

Review: Desperately Seeking Househusband

Image
Desperately Seeking Househusband by Marika Ray My rating: 5 of 5 stars One of the funniest rom-coms I have read this year! Anything having to do with rich people and a reality TV show is bound to draw up a lot of laughs! Gabby and Rhett really are a match made in heaven! They share the same views on life and sense of humor. And Rhett isn't intimidated by her money but he also isn't trying to get his hands on it. I was highly amused by the things that happened.... and when they finally got together.... it was explosive! I absolutely loved this story!!! View all my reviews

Review: Blade

Image
Blade by Sunny Mawson My rating: 5 of 5 stars ***NEW TO ME AUTHOR*** Since I had never read anything from this author before I was not at all sure what they writing style would be like. But I knew that I have recently started to love MS novels so I thought I would give it a shot! I am so glad that I did! This was so freaking good!!! Blade was in love with Annabelle for YEARS! And now that she has come back he plans to take his chance with her.... which could be a mess for him since her dad is the Prez! (yikes!) Besides their romance there was such a great story happening with the whole MC. There is a bunch of suspense and action in this book! There was never a dull moment and I did not want to put it down! For being a BIG bad biker, Blade has got a really sweet and sensitive side (that he only lets Annabelle see). I really enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to getting more stories from the other members of this MC..... there are so many inte...

Review: Broken Knight

Image
Broken Knight by L.J. Shen My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book caused some fights in my household yesterday.... I didn't want to stop reading it. I just had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next with these kids! There was no big surprise revelation. For me everything went along as I had expected. That did NOT stop me from feeling the full source of emotions that these things will bring on. Yes I cried! I went through 1/2 a box of tissue.... my husband was looking at me crazy (as if he doesn't cry over stories) and then he even came to give me a hug because he thought I needed it. This book was packed with raw emotion, which came as no surprise to me since I had read all the Sinners of Saints books so I already knew the players. I do not think that there is an adequate number of stars to give a book like this. They max you out at 5.... but this is the kind of book that requires the use of more than 5 stars. There was a lot of hype...

Review: Rescue Me

Image
Rescue Me by Andi Jaxon My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow! This book was not what I expected! And I mean that in a good way.... this book went way deeper than I was thinking it was going to. They story of Ben and Alister was one with a lot of depth and emotion. These 2 men were, in my opinion, destined to be together! It is NOT your typical student/teacher story. Alister knew that Ben was broken, he just didn't know the extent. And Ben just wanted to hide how bad his situation really was. It is a good thing that Alister was not willing to take no for an answer! This story touched my heart in a very real and serious way. The chapters were all short, so it was beyond easy to get lost in the story. Kristen and Alex were both very amusing characters and I very much look forward to getting stories about them! This was a new to me author and I am so glad that I picked up this book! It is a real gem! View all my reviews

Review: Hush, Hush

Image
Hush, Hush by Lucia Franco My rating: 5 of 5 stars I am at a total loss for words right now. I am trying so freaking hard to process what I just read it is insane. If you have read my reviews before you know that I like to go in blind. And that is what I did here. All I knew was that it was an age gap book. I am drowning in feelings! This was one of those stories that when the "big drama" happened.... you couldn't be mad at anyone for their reactions because you can see it from all sides and how it would affect each of the characters. And boy did I cry! Lucia pulled all the tears from me today.... my tear quota for the week has been decimated by her writing. I don't know why this would surprise me! She is so good with angst, and feelings..... she knows how to work them all into a story that completely pulls you in and won't let you out until you get to the very end! My heart is still beating rather quickly and I just KNOW that J...

Inhale, Exhale. by C.L. Matthews My rating: 5 of 5 stars ***I am not emotionally ready to review this book yet.....*** (a day later- I think I am ready to review this soul devastating piece of fucking awesomeness!!! ) I DIED ALL THE DEADS!!! This book was EVERYTHING!!! It is going straight to my TOP READS OF 2019 list! I don't even know HOW to move on! It was everything I thought it would be and MORE! Book hangover from HELL right now! (Glad I'm all caught up on ARCs) 5 stars is no where near enough. CL Matthews killed it! She killed me with this book! And the last 10% of this book was THE MOST INTENSE HOUR OF MY LIFE!!!!! The name was totally fitting because I was having to remind myself to breath while reading it. And then it felt like some one was sitting on my chest! From the very beginning CL Matthews rips your heart out....and keeps on doing it through entire book. I read it over the span of 2 days. When I was trying to go to sleep all ...

Review: Different as Night and Day

Image
Different as Night and Day by Leigh Lennon My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh where do I even begin! This conclusion was everything that I thought it would be. I do have to agree that Holland was a little too back and forth. But then again, with everything that girl was hit with I suppose I can completely understand her constant second guessing herself. The basic gist of this story to me was that love is love is love is love. Why is it anyone else's business who we love? Does it affect them in any way? No? Then butt out! It is not ours to judge. As long as there is love and people are happy without anyone else getting hurt than I am all for it! While Holland's back and forth drove me insane, I am absolutely in AWE of steady Maguire was. Once he made that decision, he was totally committed to it and I think that was a huge help and major annoyance for Holland. Personally I think she was just using the "you're my dead husband's father...

Review: Last First Kiss

Image
Last First Kiss by Jane Anthony My rating: 5 of 5 stars I went into this book feeling like I was going to get a decent dose of heartbreak.... what I didn't expect was to cry NUMEROUS times and be unable to put it down. Let's start with Jesse and Wren.... friends to lovers is totally my jam! I can not exactly pin point why, but it just is. Their timing is just crap. Then of coarse there is that she is dating a rich lawyer at the beginning and Jesse comes from the wrong type of family from the wrong side of town. I legit wanted to punch Asher (the rich guy) in the face more than once.... and Wren's dad REALLY made me angry. Basically this book brought out some very strong emotions from me. The only bad thing I can say about this book is that it is now over and I really want to experience it for the first time all over again! Jane Anthony took me through all the emotions.... and I loved every single second of it. (and I dare you all to look ...

Review: Game Changer

Image
Game Changer by Sierra Hill My rating: 5 of 5 stars 11 hours! 11 HOURS PEOPLE!!! I started this book 11 hours ago! I could not put it down. I growled at my husband for making me get up to help cook dinner. My heart is still recovering from so many things that this book threw at me! Garrett is a single dad to a child with special needs son.... Brooklyn is the woman that comes in to help take care of Caleb. ( I am sorry if this seems a bit off because I am still trying to gather my feelings as I type) The story that these 3 create is noting short of spectacular! My hands are still shaking!! That is how shaken I was by this book. There was one line that just killed me. KILLED ME!!! And when you all get to it you will know which one it is! I have read the other reviews, so I was not expecting this book to hit me so hard! This book was absolutely phenomenal! Sierra Hill has this way of pulling me into the story, like I am actually in it as one of the char...

Review: Like Father Like Son

Image
Like Father Like Son by Leigh Lennon My rating: 5 of 5 stars I can not even begin to tell you how great I think this book is. When I first heard the premise of it I wondered how I would feel about the taboo-ness of it all, but hey I will give it a shot..... I am so glad that I did! At this point, I am a little mad because.... damn you with that cliffhanger! There were some total alpha-male make me swoon kind of moments. Maguire is absolutely a man! And he calls Holland darlin'!!! If you have read many of my reviews, y'all know how I feel about men that use the term darlin'....all the 😍😍😍. You know from the very beginning that these 2 are going to have some major bumps in their road to a HEA....the question is are they willing to face them head on, or turn tail and hide? It is absolutely a slow burn kind of book.... but I am betting that the fireworks will be worth the wait! I am on pins and needles waiting for Different as Night and Da...

Review: Standstill

Standstill by Nicole Dykes My rating: 5 of 5 stars So yeah.... this book did me in! I read this in 1 day! I could have lost my job because I kept pulling out my Kindle while I was supposed to be working! But I just couldn't leave Ash and Garrett! It just wasn't possible! I didn't ugly cry with this book, but it had me crying! Like I would have a couple tears leak out .... and then would move on... another chapter or 2 later I had the tears again! Non-stop! Through the whole book!!! This was not the kind of book that had one side in the wrong. Both of them had stuff to work through and get themselves together. And no one of them left the other ... they both continued to go back and forth, which I thought was awesome because you didn't think you had to choose sides. You didn't feel like you had to hate any one. Now I went into this book totally blind. I only knew the name and the cover... I did not read any blurbs or teasers. And in...

Review: The Kiss Plot

Image
The Kiss Plot by Nicole French My rating: 5 of 5 stars Was there really any other rating that I would give this book? I love Jane and Eric!!! They are ALMOST everything....(I gave that title to Brandon and Skylar already) They have me all over the place. My brain and emotions were constantly at war with each other. I was thinking I knew what was going to happen, but then I was second guessing myself. There was a lot of mystery and suspense in this one. One of the biggest mysteries to me is what did Celeste know? Obviously at the family matriarch she knew a whole lot. But there seems to be a society of men involved here so with her being a woman I wonder how much did she know? She most likely would have had to figure things out for herself! I can not wait for the next (and final) book! I had so many questions that I need answered! Nicole French has me reeling! My mind is so full of the things that I think may happen next, I don't know if I will b...

Review: Hale

Image
Hale by K. Webster My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow! I was not at all ready for this intensity! I will start by saying that I had no clue what I was walking into with this book. So many of my book babes were telling me that I needed to read it....and I FINALLY got around to it. No background info. No blurb reading.... just jumped right in. The level of intensity was off the charts. This is absolutely a story of forbidden love and the things that they go through to get to their version of happily ever after. They have their work cut out for them. There is tragedy all over this story from the very first page. And their lives don't get any easier as the story goes along. I was all in on this one. Given the level of taboo that was involved I was not sure if I was going to like it but I gave it a shot and was completely immersed in their love and struggles. This story isn't for everyone. But I promise you that if you can handle reading about these thin...

Review: The Glue

Image
The Glue by K. Webster My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh my wow!!!! This story was so freaking cute! Yeah it was taboo. Yeah it was 2 men and 1 woman. But the cuteness factor was off the charts! Aiden was was this smug young man that had the world at his feet. I LOVE that he is so arrogant but he FEELS so strongly. He has so much love to give that it could never be all just for one person! I was so into this book that I started it this morning and finished it as soon as I got home. I spent a good couple of hours hiding my kindle at my desk because I just could not take my eyes away from these characters! I had to know what was in store for them! I just loved it! Review: Rivalry

Image
Rivalry by Laurelin Paige My rating: 5 of 5 stars WHAT DID I JUST READ?!?!?!? I will start this by saying that I hate Celia with a passion! The way she wouldn't let go of Hudson was so infuriating! Ugh! I can't even go back there right now! So I hate this chick right..... why the hell did I start feeling sorry for her half way through this story? Why??? I don't know!!!!! It's like now that she seems to want love (which she is still in denial about) this guy comes along and takes that away from her by playing her own game. You would think that I would be jumping for joy.... why am I not jumping for joy??? And the cliffhanger killed me! Literally had my jaw dropped and mouth wide open! I am so ready to get the next one to see what happens!!! I need to know what happens with Edward and Celia! He seems like he is so hot and cold..... and he does some of the sweetest things! But makes it sound like it was "just because". I really...

Review: Remember Me

Image
Remember Me by Nelle L'Amour My rating: 5 of 5 stars The powerful feelings that I have had while reading this book are beyond words. Nelle has taken a very sensitive subject and has turned it into a very sexy and extremely suspenseful story that I could not put down. (darn sleep and adulting for getting in the way). It is very difficult to get too into this review without spoiling the story. So I will go with the simple fact that this is a story that needs to be told. In the beginning I thought the story was going one way.... then it took a completely different turn. I was feeling scared and then gutted.... total emotional mess! But there were some oh so sweet scenes that just made me swoon like crazy. The hotness level was pretty high in some spots... and there was a very even amount of sexual tension that kept you hoping for the pounce to come! I was very happy with the way things turned out in this story and I completely recommend it to just a...

Review: Disgraceful

Image
Disgraceful by Autumn Grey My rating: 5 of 5 stars I seriously don't even know where to begin! I thought I was heart broken at the end of Desolate.... that was NOTHING compared to the pain I am feeling now! (and it is a very delicious kind of pain) Yes it ends on a cliffhanger. This book also has a love triangle, which I usually hate because I tend to side with one guy and then the heroine usually does not pick the man I thought she should be with. The way that Autumn wrote this story, it is really hard to be mad at anyone involved. I could not pick a side at all! As soon as I saw that 3rd name come up I knew I was in for a ride. As if that wasn't enough to get my heart breaking and my stomach all in knots the end came. You thin that you might get some relief. Maybe a little break from the angst...... NOPE! While I was reading the end I was thinking "damn this is a crazy ending, I can't wait to get the next book to see what happens...

Review: Unraveled

Image
Unraveled by Aubrey Bondurant My rating: 5 of 5 stars ✨Top Reads 2019✨ And the award for the book to make me cry the most in 2019 is???? Unraveled! Holy cripes! This book it worth ALL THE STARS! I cried all the ugly tears, both happy and sad ones. Aubrey took me on a ride with this story! The characters are lovable and relatable from the very beginning. Kellen is one of the swooniest men ever! OMG could he get any sweeter? And Layla is so freaking feisty! I love them together! This is one of those stories that I know will be staying with me for a long time! The subject was real and very raw. The emotions that were coming out of this book were so prominent that I can not even imagine the emotion it took to write it. I have read other books by Aubrey Bondurant (Tell Me Something is still one of my top 20 of all time faves!) but this one.... this one got me in the heart! I have loved her other books, but this one totally showcased her ability to write s...

Review: Third Strike

Image
Third Strike by B.J. Harvey My rating: 5 of 5 stars 🎧Audio Review 🎧 This was the greatest "best friend's sister" book I have EVER read!!! New to me author! Ok so I listened to this book in one day at work. I was pulled in because I love the narrators voice and was told that this would be a good one.... It was not a good one. It was freaking awesome. I can not even come up with a word for how great it was to me. This was the story of a man that made some really stupid mistakes, but they came from a misguided sense of loyalty. Drew was raised by his mom and had no other family. It always seemed like there was something else to kick him down. There were so many great moments in this book! I cried more times that I care to admit.... and then by the end I was full on ugly crying! I cried happy tears.... I cried sad tears.... I cried sexually frustrated tears! I cried ALL THE TEARS!!! I went into this book with no knowledge of anything in i...

Review: Dangerous Exes

Image
Dangerous Exes by Rachel Van Dyken My rating: 5 of 5 stars 🎧Audio Review 🎧 Yep.... another great book! These books were great! Some really great moments. After his tough break in Dirty Ex's, I was really happy that Jesse was able to get some love too. There was some really sunny stuff happening with these 2. Isla and Jessie both act really childish at the beginning. But to be honest, with everything that Jesse went through with Vanessa you really can't blame him. And Isla was just reacting. I knew at the end of Dirty Ex's that they were going to be great together but that Jessie was going to have a lot to overcome to allow it to work. Vanessa did a number on him, and losing out on Blaire to his best friend had the potential to do some damage of its own. I really enjoyed their story and had a great time reading about them driving each other out of their OCD comfort zones. It was a great story. View all my reviews

Review: Dirty Exes

Image
Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken My rating: 5 of 5 stars 🎧Audio Review 🎧 Love...love....love! The 3 POV had me. I found myself wondering constantly who was Blaire going to end up with! The way that this story unfolded was completely entertaining! There were definitely some jaw dropping moments and I was all in! Blaire had me from page 1. I very much wanted her to get her HEA. I won't say which one it ended up being with, but I will say it is who I wanted her with. But as with any love triangle story I felt super bad for the guy left behind. So I am quite hoping that he gets his HEA in the next book! I loved everything about this book and I totally think that everyone should go get it now.... absolutely a MUST READ! View all my reviews

Review: Method

Image
Method by Kate Stewart My rating: 4 of 5 stars I really wanted to love this book. Everyone was going on about how great it was, and I just didn't connect with it. The story line was a good one. For me it had the potential to be a real emotional read. And it wasn't the characters, because I thought that they were pretty good too. There was a lot of time hopping in the book, and while I understand why the story may have needed to be told in that way, I think that may be why I was unable to form a connection to the characters and the story. I will say that I did shed a couple tears at the end and felt like it ended well. It wasn't a bad book. Or maybe I wasn't in the frame of mind for a book like this at the time. But I do think that, despite my personal feelings it was a good book and I can see why so many people had recommended it. The story is a very powerful one. View all my reviews

Review: Intention

Intention by Ava Harrison My rating: 5 of 5 stars 🎧Audio Review 🎧 Wow! Just w-o-w! This story had me all kinds of emotional. Nathaniel and Madeline were just so freaking entertaining! I loved their banter through the whole story. The way that their personalities meshed together was so much fun to watch! The emotional content was off the charts awesome! I cried 5 times! 5. Different. Times!!!! I honestly think that I could have been happy reading more about them. I loved them as a couple and I loved them as a team! Totally worth 5 stars!!! View all my reviews

Review: Boyfriend Maintenance

Image
Boyfriend Maintenance by Lauren Helms My rating: 4 of 5 stars What a cute fake relationship book! Really great back story. Nice, light fun read. Perfect for between those angsty AF books. I only wanted to smack Jake one time! And I'm beginning to wonder if Sara will ever get it together (a background character that has popped up in a few of these books) View all my reviews

Review: Archer

Image
Archer by Haley Jenner My rating: 5 of 5 stars Whew!!! Ok.... now that I have cleared up the tears from my eyes I can try to write a little something! This book! KILLED. ME! I DIED! ALL THE DEADS!!! This is such an emotionally charged story! And to be honest I am sure it is one that MANY people live through. I found myself yelling at Archer so many times. He infuriated me to no end! And even when he got his **** together, he still pissed me off. Even then I was feeling like he was resentful toward Annabelle for trying to implement some self-preservation in her actions. It is a very back and forth story. And then there was a C-U-Next-Tuesday that I wanted to toss in the gutter where she belonged! UGH! I hate women like her (you will know when you meet her....she is the WORST). My emotions are still pretty raw after this story and as much as I want to jump right into Jake's story, that you get a little peek into at the end, I just don't think t...
