Review: The Other Brother

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was such a beautiful story! It wasn't just about Aaron and Amelia and their second chance at love. It gives great background of Aaron and his life. From the very beginning you get a great sense of the kind of man he will grow up to be. Without having all of the details, his whole life (possibilities of what he dealt with) flashed in my mind. Which is why it was so great for him when he met and fell in love with Amelia. Always feeling like he is not good enough in general, and the fact that he is always trying to do what is right for everyone else is what eventually broke them up. When she got a call that her dad was getting worse in the nursing home that he was now living in she had to go to spend more time with him. And it just so happened that she ended up renting the house right next to her first love. They start to reconnect, but a relationship isn't possible since she is with another man (even though he still hasn't moved to be with her). Aaron wants her back, but he doesn't want to hurt her in the process so he decides to be her friend.
I don't think I have ever before read a book where the male character is so openly vulnerable and wearing his heart on his sleeve. Taking the chance at very serious heartbreak. Aaron is my absolute favorite in this series! He definitely made me shed more than a few tears.
