Review: Misbehaved

Image
Misbehaved by Charleigh Rose My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh holy greatness.... this story takes "forbidden romance" to a whole other level! Remi and her stepbrother, Ryan, live in the bad side of the city. She gets to attend a prestigious school for her senior year in high school. To say that her relationship with Ryan is inappropriate is a bit of an understatement, but she doesn't want him to be anything other than her brother and best friend. When she gets to the school she gets noticed by Pierce James, her debate teacher. He happens to see an exchange between her and Ryan that worries him, and then he noticed that he knows Ryan from his past, and it was not in a good way. He tries to stay away from Remi, but she pushes the boundaries. He never stood a chance! Remi is a very strong and determined lady. There was no way that she was going to spend her whole life living in the crappy life she was raised in. Her relationship with Ryan was qu...

Review: The Secrets Between Us

Image
The Secrets Between Us by Jennifer Ann My rating: 4 of 5 stars The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars was that I just didn't develop a connection to the characters. There was most definitely a lot to the story of Lincoln and Quinn. I felt like she had been through so much. The secrets that were between them were all HUGE! And it is totally understandable why they kept these things to themselves. Had they not kept these secrets then they may not have broken up for that 7 years. (but then that wouldn't have made a very good story). I totally hated Kellen and was not at all sad to see him get what he deserved (especially with the things he was saying to Lincoln about Quinn). I think that Quinn had to have been a very strong woman to have dealt with Kellen the way that she was. I really enjoyed this books. I loved the story line and loved the characters (for the most part). I would even read it again. View all my reviews ...

Review: X-394

Image
X-394 by Dee Garcia My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oooooh the suspense! Eden and Xander are a super hot couple. She was sent to kill him after he didnt pay back her father the money they he owed. But once she was with him she realized that she just couldn't take his life. They then started to have a relationship. When she gets a call to leave town to deal with some other business she has to take him with her because she told her father that she had killed him. So they went on a road trip. He spent a good part of it being angry at her for the lies that she told him, but eventually came around. But then her family finds out that she did not kill him and that they are off together. There was a ton of suspense and a cliffhanger ending.... now I am waiting for the next installment. View all my reviews

Review: The Truth about Porn Star Boyfriends

Image
The Truth about Porn Star Boyfriends by Sunniva Dee My rating: 4 of 5 stars This was a very interesting story about Ciro, a porn star, who falls in love with Savannah. He does not tell her that he is in porn. He wanted to develop their relationship before she found out what he does for a living. It would take a really strong woman to be able to stay with a man that has sex on camera with other people. Ciro is absolutely the sweetest boyfriend. Its a pretty funny story. There are some serious moments when he gets to show how supportive he can be. He most definitely gets an "A" for effort! View all my reviews

Review: Broken & Brave

Image
Broken & Brave by Savana Jade My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is a really sweet story of a woman, Lanie, who was in a very abusive marriage. She finds the strength to leave her husband, but has to go into hiding since he isn’t too willing to let her go. She ends up being sent to live by Jaxon. He was the best thing for her. He fell in love at first sight. He didn’t care what baggage she came with, he knew it was big but he was unaware of the extent. Lanie thought that when she told him that he would leave her. There was a lot of foreplay with these two. There was also some familial issues (mostly with Jaxon’s family) thrown in that were really interesting to find out. The only issue that I really had with this book was the repeat of things said between Lanie and Jaxon. I get that a woman with her history would need to hear these things multiple times before she will believe it, I also understand that a battered woman will go back and forth between w...

Review: His Obsession

Image
His Obsession by Anna Bloom My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was a great lead up to His Possession. Sophia was the girl Blake was supposed to protect. Unfortunately he couldn't protect her from himself. He fell for her, and when she started to show feelings for him as well he decided to back away. But it seems that did more harm than good.... I can't wait to see where this goes!!! Review: Scarlet Toys

Image
Scarlet Toys by S.M. Shade My rating: 5 of 5 stars Despite the fact that this book is about a sex toy shop it really doesn't have any more sex than your average romance type novel. Wyatt and Cassidy are quite a hilarious couple. Wyatt decides to open a sex shop in a small town. Cassidy had just lost her job and applied to be the manager of this new store. Being that it is in a small town you can imagine the issues they run into. But in that time they have a relationship that begins. They have such a light and fun relationship. The "slums" that Cassidy lives in are quite the comical place. Her neighbors on their own were quite amusing. This was a fun light read that literally had me laughing out loud at times. Cassidy is a very sassy female and she gives Wyatt a run for his money. I look forward to hearing more about the crazy antics from the neighbors of Violent Circle 😜 View all my reviews

Review: Lovers Like Us

Image
Lovers Like Us by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars πŸ’–πŸ”₯ Everything I thought it was going to be! πŸ’–πŸ”₯ There was so much more to this book than just the love story between Moffy and Farrow! You get some very serious glimpses into Moffy's relationship with Charlie. You get more looks at some of the other "kids". It was really great to see more about Beckett and Luna! This book was impossibly great! It was written from the POV of Moffy and Farrow. You got to see a lot more of the older kids in the family. There was so much love! A good amount of suspense. And of coarse there was some serious hotness! (and I am not just talking about what goes on between Farrow and Moffy) There are some very seriously hot bodyguards with these people, and they seem to like to have a lot of fun too, most of them are not too stuffy. I absolutely FLOVED Lovers Like Us and now I cant wait for Alphas Like Us! View all my reviews

Review: Unwell

Image
Unwell by Robin Laine My rating: 5 of 5 stars I really enjoyed this book. From the very beginning it had my emotions all over the place. Azley is a single mom who, after being heart broken, is determined to never rely on a man ever again. Evan has decided to break her of that idea. She was only wanting casual hook ups, but he changed that for her. I spent the whole book waiting for the other shoe to drop. (I actually was waiting for the a-hole baby's daddy to make a come back and mess stuff up for her...) I was pulled in the from the beginning, to the point where I spent my whole day off just reading it! I look forward to reading more from Robin Lane, and I am quite excited to see who she decides to tell us about next. View all my reviews

Review: Love's Ache

Image
Love's Ache by Ava Alise My rating: 5 of 5 stars Liz is quite a tortured lady. She absolutely deserves to be loved and cherished! After dealing with the loss of her sister, she then also has to go through the stress of a divorce. Before she has even had time to really deal with all these things, the man who actively perused her decides he can't handle her drama.... Chris is basically a single father. He "shares" custody of his son with the mother, but he is the main parent and does a dam good job taking care of his son. One thing he never wants to do is introduce another female into their life because he always wants his son to come first and doesn't want anything to get in the way of that. Chris and Liz decide they will have a FWB relationship. Both are going through a lot of stuff in their lives and have no room for the complications that come with the whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing. But when you spend so much time with some...

Review: The Other Brother

Image
The Other Brother by Meghan Quinn My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was such a beautiful story! It wasn't just about Aaron and Amelia and their second chance at love. It gives great background of Aaron and his life. From the very beginning you get a great sense of the kind of man he will grow up to be. Without having all of the details, his whole life (possibilities of what he dealt with) flashed in my mind. Which is why it was so great for him when he met and fell in love with Amelia. Always feeling like he is not good enough in general, and the fact that he is always trying to do what is right for everyone else is what eventually broke them up. When she got a call that her dad was getting worse in the nursing home that he was now living in she had to go to spend more time with him. And it just so happened that she ended up renting the house right next to her first love. They start to reconnect, but a relationship isn't possible since she is with...

Review: Trashy Foreplay

Image
Trashy Foreplay by Gemma James My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was a very emotional story. I love that Jules was brave enough to move across the country (even though she thinks she is running away). Cash is just seriously heartbreaking! His marriage is not in a great place and he is instantly drawn to Jules.... the questions are who was his wife cheating on him with? What went wrong with them? The only bummer is that his ended in a cliffhanger and the next conclusion isn't coming out for another 4-6 months! The wait is going to kill me!!! View all my reviews

Review: Imagine Me

Image
Imagine Me by Fiona Cole My rating: 5 of 5 stars I seriously got so sucked into this book that I finished it in one day.... I was reading it on my lunch break at work and was late getting back because I did not want to leave Shane and Juliana! Juliana was pretty sheltered her whole life. Her family seemed to have her life already planned out for her. She didn't want what they had planned. So she left to Cincinnati, where her brother is, to try to live a life other than that of arm candy for the guy that was going to take over her dad's company. Shane had spent his life in foster care and never really had a family until he became friends with Jack. So that made things a bit difficult that he was attracted to Juliana, since she is Jack's sister and 13 years younger. Not to mention that Shane isn't known to stay with women. Juliana doesn't really care. She goes after what she wants. And she wants him. The book is entirely from Julian...

Review: Jax: A Cocky Cage Fighter Christmas Story

Image
Jax: A Cocky Cage Fighter Christmas Story by Lane Hart My rating: 5 of 5 stars Lane has given us a peak into the lives of Page and Jax a few years later. Just because Jax retired doesn't mean he has been tamed. He retired because Page didn't want him to fight anymore since she saw it as setting a bad example for their son. This is a great little story of what happens when one person tries to change another. The result isn't always what you imagined it would be. And in this case the 2 don't really go into working our their problem with the right frame of mind. They both have to work out things on their own and see things from the other persons perspective to try to work it out with a resolution that gets them both what they want..... reminding us all that just because you get your "happily ever after" doesn't mean that you wont still have to put in the work to keep it HAPPY! Another fantastic story to add to the CCF serie...

Review: On a Tuesday

Image
On a Tuesday by Whitney G. My rating: 5 of 5 stars πŸ’–πŸ”₯πŸ’‹Yet another example of how GREAT Whitney is…. Whenever I pick up a book by Whitney G I know that I am in for a range of emotions, and I better be prepared to read the whole book in one day, or have issues sleeping. Her characters stay with me. I keep hearing their conversations in my head. Usually they stay with me for a few days while my brain goes crazy with the possibilities of what happened after THE END. In this story Grayson is a star football player in college and Charlotte is the one that has been assigned to tutor him. He is attracted to her, but unlike most of the females he is used to, she won’t give in to him. He had to work really hard just to get her phone number. They finally get together. They fall in love…. And then they graduate. That’s where the trouble begins. They reunite 7 years later at a reunion, and just like in college, when he decided to go after her to figure out wha...

Review: He Loves Me...KNOT

Image
He Loves Me...KNOT by R.C. Boldt My rating: 4 of 5 stars πŸ’–"Sometimes love needs a second chance"πŸ’– Knox and Emma Jane are high school sweethearts on the verge of getting married...until she hears something that makes her think its not such a great idea. So she leaves. She befriends a quarterback (Beckett) and starts a whole new life, leaving her fiance, family and friends behind. Eventually her past catches up to her and that it where all the fun begins. I loved that there was a bit of angst in this story, but not enough to make you full on ugly cry. There was quite a bit of humor. The friendship between Beckett and Emma Jane is rather interesting. The story can be a little confusing because it is from both POV and there are a lot of flashbacks foe both characters. One of the greatest things about this book was that the chapters were not too long and they usually didn't break with a cliffhanger, which made it easier to put down when I ...

Review: Something Just Like This

Image
Something Just Like This by Lisa Shelby My rating: 4 of 5 stars 🐝 Cami and Liam are most definitely the bee's knees🐝 Cami and Liam are part of the same circle of friends. They are the only 2 that are left single.... so it seemed only natural that they get together. They both have their issues. Liam tends to drink when things are bothering him, and before he moved to Portland he was dealt a pretty harsh blow by a woman he thought he was in love with. Cami feels like she needs to be completely independent. She never asks for help or shows that she needs anyone. Neither of them communicate very well when something is bothering them. I love how they were both unsure of themselves. It was a great telling of a realistic love story. No super heavy drama, no one party playing the total victim. He had money but that was not a factor in how he wooed her at all. This was my first book by Lisa Shelby and I was quite pleased with it. Since this was the 3rd ...

Review: Bad Idea

Image
Bad Idea by Nicole French My rating: 5 of 5 stars I felt like there was a slow start to this story. But then once it got going it was so worth it. Layla is a college student who came to New York from Washington. She comes from money but her parents don't spoil her. Nico is a hard working man who takes care of his family first. He doesn't have money or the greatest background. But none of these things matter to Layla. She wants to be with him anyway. Nico never feels like he is good enough for her. Layla has a roommate that is really quite snobby, but I still couldn't hate her for it because you could always tell she really was just looking out for Layla. Even if it was not what Layla wanted to hear. The end of the book was very emotional! I really did cry (hence the reason it got 5 ⭐). But then the epilogue happened..... and it pushed to story into a whole new direction with a GIGANTIC cliffhanger that had my stomach in knots! πŸ˜’ Now I a...
