Review: Cowgirl Up and Ride
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This story takes you on a couple different journeys...
First is with AJ and Cord. We know Cord is a single dad trying to get over the wife that left him. AJ is the girl that lived next door (miles away on another ranch) and was in love with him her whole life. With their 13 year age difference she had to come up with something big to get his attention. She wants him to see her as a woman.... not his son's babysitter or little sisters best friend. So she tells him she's a virgin and wants him to teach her everything. What man can refuse that? He is quite demanding and always has to be in charge. She hopes to turn it into something more than sex. She is much older than her actual age, will he actually see that? The book is centered around Cord and AJ. But you also get a look into the lives of some other McKay's that sets up the back story for future books.
Then there is Kade. He decides he is ready to stop with the different girl all the time business. When he gets a verbal beat down from a woman who thinks he is his twin brother, he decides to pretend to be his brother to go on a date with her. He keeps the ruse going for a while....
Finally you meet Colt. He is in a bad place in his life with partying and going a bit wild. When he has someone close to him that dies he takes it really hard and the drinking becomes even worse. It turns from being a fun way to party to being a requirement to get through his day. He gets into some issues with his brothers and is upsetting the family.
Basically this is a fantastic read. I have actually read it numerous times and have even listed to the audio. I FLOVE the Rough Riders Series!!!
