Review: Unveiling Fate

Image
Unveiling Fate by Jeannine Allison My rating: 5 of 5 stars "You can’t spend your life giving everything away in hopes that someday a person will give it back." Man if that isn't the truest statement! This was the first time I heard of Jeannine Allison. I was not at all sure that I was getting into. But the cover was beautiful (yes I will partially judge a book by its cover), and other readers (that I often share opinions of books with) were raving about her writing. So here I am.... I have only read this one at this point, but I am going to get around to reading the others! This book was fantastic! Ellie was just a regular girl who wanted to have friends, and her parents to love her. She didn't get those. But she had just about the best brother a girl could have. He got her out of the terrible situation that she was living in with the constant emotional abuse from their parents. Grayson was a cop who Damien sought help from in deali...

Review: Redneck Romeo

Image
Redneck Romeo by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow! This is probably the most emotional of all the Rough Rider stories! There were so many things going on with Dalton and Rory! Dalton also had so much other family things going on outside of their relationship. He was trying to patch up more than just his relationship with Rory. As the last unmarried McKay the whole family seems to think that he is still an irresponsible young man. After he left town for 3 years, and they all had no idea why or what he was up to, they all just assumed that he was running around goofing off. In his younger years, he had messed around with Rory. They grew up as friends. He took her virginity, and then he messed with her a couple other times through the years. He has now seen that she is the one that he loves and wants to be with. He probably always knew it but thought that he had to get the “playing” out of his system. Now he has a quite a huge task ahead of him...

Review: Bad Habit

Image
Bad Habit by Charleigh Rose My rating: 5 of 5 stars That was insanely fantastic! I read this in one day! This book is just THAT great! It is always crazy to read a "brother's best friend" book. There is always a few elements of naughty to it.🔥🔥🔥 There is the age differences (because you always fall for you older brother's best friend😍) Then there is all the secrecy (because you cant tell your best friend that you have been messing around with is sister!) Briar was in love with Asher before she even knew what love was. He was in love with her but denied it because it "wasn't right". They had a few things and people working against them.... I really hated Whitley (but I LOVED how she was the PERFECT bitch!!!) There was really nothing about this book that I did not love. The whole story, including the things that they both also had happening away from each other. I cant believe I had this sitting on my kindle for so l...

Review: Release

Image
Release by Dylan Allen My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is a great story of self discovery. Lily has suffered a terrible ordeal. She needs to find herself again. In the mean time she keeps herself hidden. When she meets Harry it is at just the right time and he is just the right amount of pushy to get her out of her darkness. Their love affair is so back and forth that on a couple occasions I did start to get a little annoyed. I am all for a good "will they, wont they?" story, but I really felt like there was a bit too much of that. It is a beautiful story of a woman fighting her way back to herself! And while I did get annoyed with some of the things that happened, it all lead to a place that I was glad to see them get to. Harry and Lily are absolutely a fantastic couple and I am glad that they did not completely give up on each other! View all my reviews

Review: Gone Country

Image
Gone Country by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars Gavin Daniels, aka the long lost McKay son, finally comes home to Wyoming! Bringing his teenage daughter with him. He comes to town to get her away from the trouble she kept finding herself in. This great story goes a lot into Gavin’s forgiveness of his mother for giving him up at birth. He spends his time starting to build relationships with his family…. Everyone but his mother. Then there is the love story that starts between him and Riel. She has her own issues to deal with… his money is a big issue for her and she doesn’t want to become reliant on him and his money. She doesn’t want to become that woman that cant make it on her own after all the years she spent taking care of herself and daughter. You also get a story of young love. Sierra and Boone spend the year playing the “just friends” game. The love and angst of teenage emotions! I love all the McKay stories! This one is no exception. Wi...

Review: Frat Hell

Image
Frat Hell by S.M. Shade My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book literally had me laughing out loud! Violent Circle is one of those places that you want to live ....but then you are glad you don't live there. In this installment of the Saga Jani has to pay up on her promise to Noble that if he did that one embarrassing thing (I wont say what just in case you haven't read Scarlet Toys yet) then she would FINALLY go out on a date with him. They start to see each other and things look like they are moving pretty quickly. These 2 have a hilarious chemistry. The things that they do together sound like a lot of fun and usually get them into some really funny situations. This was a great light and funny read. It was a great way to spend my weekend! Review: Before She Was Mine

Image
Before She Was Mine by Amelia Wilde My rating: 5 of 5 stars "There was no before, I was always yours." Holy binge reading batman!!! I started this book at 10:30 at night and then finished it by 2 the next afternoon! (but that's only because a girl has to sleep sometime) I am always a fan of the "brother's best friend" stories, but I really felt like this one took it to a whole other level! I felt like Summer was a very strong woman and exactly the kind of woman that Dayton needed to kick his butt into shape! But of coarse he did not feel like he was deserving of her attention (a fact that her own brother helped to drill into his brain). But she doesn't let him push her away. She keeps on him, pushing him to being the man that he should be, not the one that he made himself into after coming out of the army. It was a bit of a slow start for me, so I was quite surprised when all of the sudden I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! I ...

Review: Reckless

Image
Reckless by Lex Martin My rating: 5 of 5 stars "Without you, everything hurts." Holy goodness! This book was exactly what I needed! There was sweetness! There was drama! There was a few hot as hell scenes! There was a crazy ex-wife! And yes I did shed a few tears. Tori was the underdog that I was constantly rooting for! She wants to get her life together, but now other things just seem to keep getting in her way. Ethan is the hot single dad that needed to hire a nanny to help out with the kids while his mother leaves town. So of coarse these 2 people living together would cause sparks to fly! Honestly they only had a couple misunderstandings, nothing too major. But then comes the psycho ex-wife. Without spoiling .... I have to say that when "the big drama" happened.... I literally felt the bile rising in my throat! I absolutely LOVED everything about this book. It gave me the feels! (and yes I did cry.... being the sappy person th...

Review: Clandestine

Image
Clandestine by Ava Harrison My rating: 5 of 5 stars Powerful story! This was my first Ava Harrison book. I couldn't put it down. I found the story of Spencer and Olivia so captivating! It dragged me in from the very beginning! This is more than a rich guy sweeps a girl off her feet kind of story. The problems they face are "Real people" problems. Things that I could relate to! It really tugged at my heart strings! I cried a time or 5. I laughed quite a bit. I really didn't even read the blurb on this book. I had no idea what the story was going to be. I went in blindly and it was wonderful. I am going to have to get into more Ava Harrison books now! I was totally in! Loved Spencer. Loved Olivia. Loved it all! View all my reviews

Review: Gods & Monsters

Image
Gods & Monsters by Saffron A. Kent My rating: 5 of 5 stars I really don't think that I could have loved this book any more! Evie is a goddess! Abel is a tortured, yet totally lovable, soul. I love the time span of this book. Since it starts out when they are so young, I was really reminded of how potent young love can be. The things that you do with your love when sex is not yet something you are ready for. I would image, as a writer, that is a difficult thing to toe the line of without making some people angry. (Saffron does a fantastic job of this!!!) There were more than one occasion that I found myself tearing up or just out right crying! I love how Evie sees in Abel what everyone else refuses to acknowledge. Their love is absolutely the stuff of legends! They both love with their whole heart. Despite what they are facing, they don't seem to lose faith in each other. Even when it seems like they may be losing faith in them self! 5 sta...

Review: The Striking Back Series

Image
The Striking Back Series by S.M. Shade My rating: 5 of 5 stars I loved this series so much more than I thought I would! Book 1 and 2 are about Mason and Everly getting together. Its a great telling of 2 people that were orphaned children and how they took the life that they were given and did some really great things with it instead of wallowing in self pity. There are more than a few spots where there is some suspense. Book 3 is happening mostly at the same time as the other 2 books although they are from the perspective of Macy and Parker. Macy is hiding from her abusive boyfriend while getting closer to Parker. Again lots of hot scenes along with some great suspense and story line. Book 4 is about Alex. It is an M/M romance! But personally I had gotten so attached to this family in the first 3 stories that I was really just happy that Alex was getting the love he deserved as well!..(I wont name who his love interest is because it was a pleasant su...

Review: Kissin' Tell

Image
Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars We all have that one person that we wished we would have had the chance with in high school. Well Georgia was that one for Tell. And he got a chance with her when it came time for their 10 year reunion. I thought that they were great right from the start! It was cute how he basically tried to court her while she just wanted to get to banging! There were many misunderstandings on both sides, but that is to be expected when people don’t openly communicate with each other. He had some left over resentments from high school and, although he never saw her as the shallow person most of the other people in school did, he didn’t know what kinds of things she was really dealing with then. So that carried into his idea of what she was like as an adult, which was a wrong assumption. It was interesting to hear that there was one of the famous McKay clan that couldn’t get whoever he wanted at one point. Bu...

Review: The Sweetest Package

Image
The Sweetest Package by Leigh Lennon My rating: 5 of 5 stars What a great follow up to Holiday Package! It was great to see that Jake and Sasha got back together. The fact that Jake was not able to get completely rid of Sylvie. Turns out that she has wormed her way into his life from another angle. In this story we get to see Jake and Sasha reunite, and I am sure that you already know what "the sweetest package" is, but I'm not going to say anything! I was on the edge of my seat when the action began! And then you get a bunch of insight into how Sylvie fits in to it all and why she was so intent on getting to Sasha's father. You get SOME insight.... just enough to make you want Sylvie to get her own story to see how she got there. But Jake and Sasha are fantastic and I was super excited to see them get their HEA! Loved the story! Can't wait to see what's up next (hopefully it will be more about Sylvie..... hint hint) ...
