Review: Pretty Reckless

Image
Pretty Reckless by Jane Anthony My rating: 5 of 5 stars I went into this book with no clue about the author or really even the story I was about to read. All I knew was that it was a story about 2 addicts getting together. If you know or are an addict then you already know the drama and craziness that can come along with that. Chase is a recovering addict who is still working on healing his broken heart. Kat is in the middle of her self destruction. What he saw in her was a lost person who he needed to stay away from but absolutely could not! Jane wrote in her acknowledgments that "addiction may seem like a poor background to a romance novel". I couldn't disagree anymore! I felt like the story was real! It was a great telling of a story about 2 broken people going back and forth. Always feeling like the other shoe is going to drop. And they took turns at this role! What happened in this book was not a rich guy sweeping the girl off her ...

Review: Long Way Down

Image
Long Way Down by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was the most emotional of all the books to me. Ryke and Daisy are working on their family. They get engaged, and then married. They try really hard to get pregnant. The whole family deals with some very unhappy “fans” . We also get to see the Calloway family grow some more. Hearing Daisy and Ryke describe what they see in the other couples is really interesting. You didn’t get a whole lot of that in Hothouse Flower since they spent most of that book alone. In this story you also get to see a lot more emotion from Connor. Its funny how much more evolutions you see from Connor when it isn’t even his story. I also found even more love for Lily. It is in the story of others that you finally see her developing strength. In this story for Daisy and Ryke you get see them being crazy together. Build a life together. Daisy has found her voice with the help of Ryke and her sisters. Ryke and Lo finall...

Review: Corrode

Image
Corrode by Ella Fields My rating: 5 of 5 stars 💖💖"All the roads in life...no matter where I've been or where I'm going...every single one will always lead me back to you. In this and every life after."💖💖 If I'm being honest I was not really as excited for this book. I love Ella Fields writing and have loved the stories she has told me so far, so I figured I would like this one too. But seriously I was not too sure I was going to love a story about a guy who wound up in jail for bad choices he made trying to support his family and the girl who took off running, keeping the baby from not only him but also his brother, because she didn't approve of the measures he was taking.... I WAS SO WRONG!!! There was so much more to the story than I thought there was going to be. Felix has had a hard life. Maggie was disowned by her family because she fell in love with Felix. They had bigger dreams for their lives than they were makin...

Review: Twisted Twosome

Image
Twisted Twosome by Meghan Quinn My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was one of my favorites of the year! Its a enemies to lovers story with a rich girl falling for the working class guy! The relationship between Racer and Georgie is hilarious...with all the pranks and antagonizing it really reminds me of me and my husband! She needs help getting her shop fixed up and he needed a side job to make some extra money. They spend a lot of time together....so naturally they were going to get together! He shows her how to loosen up and have a good time. He also stood up for her when her dad was trying to tear her down. Basically Racer is super great boyfriend material! I love him! One of the cutest things in this book is the book of words that Georgie keeps. It brings up some really cool sounding words. View all my reviews

Review: Chasing Miss Sin: A Novel

Image
Chasing Miss Sin: A Novel by Jenna Lynn Hodge My rating: 4 of 5 stars Chasing Miss Sin was a pretty decent read. I wouldn't say that it was great, but not terrible. Ellie is an Erotic novel author named Miss Sin. Chase in a kindergarten teacher.... that right there is pretty funny if you ask me. She kept this fact from him for a while, which is totally understandable. But men don't like feeling duped so he was not too happy about it. But in all reality he may have just been using this as an excuse to walk away from her. Ellie was a bit of an emotional mess, and a lot of time was spent on her getting upset. I think a bit more back story on Chase would have helped the reader understand why he really got upset. Then there was the attempt at a reconciliation with her mother, who I didn't know she had a bad relationship with. Just a couple things that could have used a bit more explanation. Review: Smart Girl

Image
Smart Girl by Kate Baum My rating: 5 of 5 stars Totally worth the wait!!! Dee and Anthony... what a pair! Super hot🔥🔥🔥!! Dee think s that she know what she wants> Anthony proves her wrong. She thought that she would be a dominatrix...but he showed her otherwise. Watching her best friends with their significant others was tough for her. She was feeling some jealousy. She wasn't ready for a relationship so why be jealous of her friends? Turns out Anthony was just what she needed..... can they find a way to keep things going with them both being in 2 different cities??? View all my reviews

Review: Funny Girl

Image
Funny Girl by Kate Baum My rating: 5 of 5 stars Since I had already read the first 2 books in the series I already knew this was going to be an emotional book. Right from the beginning it was bringing tears to my eyes talking about Janie's attack. But I loved the story of 2 broken people working to heal each other. And really.... could Cullen get any hotter??? His fears on hurting Janie is just about the sweetest. I feel like the pie to the face was a masterful touch to the story. But the question that I still have is did they move in together??? Still another great story in the Girl Series...... View all my reviews

Review: Brave Girl

Image
Brave Girl by Kate Baum My rating: 4 of 5 stars I read Nice Girl, so I could not wait to see what happens with Eve since she has been mentioned a few time in some very interesting contexts. I kind of had a hard time getting into this one. I felt like there was too much time spent on the background story of her parents. But once the story got going I was entranced. I loved how Eve was a strong advocate for everyone but herself. Lou's constant pursuit despite her always pushing him away was portrayed in such a way that I didn't feel like he was some cocky alpha-male jerk. I was getting so into the story surrounding them as a whole that the abrupt ending was a bit of a disappointment. Just because she finally admitted her feelings for him did not mean that all the ends were tied up. Usually these things would have been wrapped up in an Epilogue but sadly there wasn't one. Review: Nice Girl

Image
Nice Girl by Kate Baum My rating: 5 of 5 stars I adore Vinnie and Grace! She's the good girl who helps the bad boy change his ways. But there is so much more to the story!!! He has already begun to turn his life around. The only area he has been unsuccessful is in his relationships with women. He has some very deep rooted issues. When Grace first meets him, he terrified her. She has been working in being a strong and independent woman. As her relationship with Vinnie develops, she worries that her feelings for him are making her weak and dependent on him. Personally I think this relationship with him only helps her develop her strength. Needing a "hero" now and then does not show weakness, and dealing with Vinnie's constant hot then cold behavior would take an enormous amount of strength and confidence. Plus given his past, and whats she knows of it, her choosing to stick it out and continue to help him face his fears make her one o...

Review: Cain

Image
Cain by Lane Hart My rating: 5 of 5 stars Wow! If your read the Cocky Cage Fighter series then you will absolutely love this book! You don't have to have read the CCF series to get into this one. Its cool because in one of the CCF books (Luke) you see what happens when he went into the underground fighting to earn some extra cash. There you were introduced to Cain. From Luke's POV he seemed like a total douche! This give you his side of the story and you get to know why he was such a jerk about the possibility of losing. Gabby was sold to the mafia boss by her brother when she was only 14. That was when she met Cain. He was in a dark place, but the second he saw her he felt protective of her, maybe even love at first sight (but being 15 he wouldn't have known that). You get a good amount of back story on these 2. Cain gives the phrase "fighting for the woman you love" a whole new meaning. He fights to keep her from having to str...

Review: Endless Love

Image
Endless Love by Nelle L'Amour My rating: 5 of 5 stars After the heart breaking end to Undying Love I was more than excited to read another story where Ryan gets the chance for a happy ending. After the death of Allee he wrote a book about their story. He fell into a serious depression. Willow was a dancer in a ballet. She fell into some very unhealthy habits to keep herself relevant in her job. Plus she caught the man she was in a relationship with having sex with another ballerina…. In her dressing room. Something that got her through tough nights by reading a love story that captured her heart. Undying Love. Ryan is a regular customer at her father’s deli. When she asks him, Ryan has no problem signing her copy of his book. He decides to start trying for a relationship with her. Everywhere he turns he sees Allee cheering him on, telling him that it is time for him to move on. He has a hard time getting rid of the guilt that he feels. The strugg...

Review: Addicted After All

Image
Addicted After All by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars :Sighs: This was by far the best of the Addicted novels! I absolutely love the closeness of Lily and Lo. There is Lily’s strength to get through dealing with pregnancy hormones. There is Lo’s realization that he wants the baby that he thought he never wanted. There is Lily confronting her mom after all these years. A whole lot of great things happen to them in this story. I have read it numerous times, and yet it still made me cry on more than one occasion (both happy and sad tears). I am so invested in these characters as if they were real people that I have known for years. Seeing good things happen to Lily and Lo makes my heart swell. They always think that bad things happen to bad people so they never think that they deserve anything good happening to them. I am super glad to see that it actually happens for them. And now I move on to the next book…. (even though I have read that one a ...

Review: Legally Ours

Image
Legally Ours by Nicole French My rating: 5 of 5 stars Everything I was hoping it would be! Skylar and Brandon are so back and forth. The last story (Legally Mine) ended with a huge cliffhanger! Well it really felt like 2 cliffhangers. The twists did not stop there. Once those 2 things were cleared up (or sort of cleared up) there were still quite a few things happening that took me for a ride on the emotional roller coaster. I'm not gonna lie.... I cried more than once! And she really got me at the end, I was quite nervous that the ending was not going to be to my liking... but even then it would have been a great story. It wraps up the love story of Skylar and Brandon quite well. It basically wraps up all the different story lines that have come up regarding both of their lives before they got together also. I really think this is probably the best series wrap up book I have read this year! I really do love the books that make me cry the ugly t...

Review: Hothouse Flower

Image
Hothouse Flower by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars We finally get to know more about the youngest Calloway sister! Of course she was going to get together with Ryke. Was there ever any question about that? The real question is how everyone will deal with their relationship. Daisy has her modeling career. She is finally 18 so she can go to Paris for fashion week without her overbearing mother. After all of the trauma she has dealt with from her sister’s sex addiction, and then her other sister’s sex tapes, you wonder if this poor girl can take anymore. Ryke is really the only one that has been there for her. Thankfully she has him since her other sisters have someone also. The more you get into their lives the more you love all of these characters. They all have so many issues to work through. The sisters don’t seem to all have a great dynamic. Lily and Rose are extremely close. Daisy doesn’t feel as close to her sisters. It takes Ryke pushing ...

Review: Legally Mine

Image
Legally Mine by Nicole French My rating: 5 of 5 stars In this 2nd book to the Spitfire trilogy you get to see more of the story about Brandon and Skylar. After she runs off to New York to be with her family after graduation she changes her mind and decides to go back to Boston and take the high paying job there. It doesn't take long for Brandon to find out that she is back. They get back together, but that isn't the end. More of her family gets involved. His wife (soon to be ex-wife) stirs up some more drama. Jared stated to creep me out and I am not quite sure how Skylar was able to be around him because he really have me the creeps. This middle book is full of love, hot sex, heart break and a bit if suspense. There were more than one place where it totally had tears in my eyes trying to read through them because I didn't want to take a break in the book. And now I have to wrap this up so that I can move on to read the finale! ...

Review: Undying Love

Image
Undying Love by Nelle L'Amour My rating: 5 of 5 stars Make sure to have a box of tissue ready! Ryan and Allee were one of the greatest couples! They met, they fell in love. She was keeping a secret from him. When he found out about it he was devastated. He had a psycho ex-girlfriend that took great pleasure in giving him the news of her deception. Ryan and Allee get through this drama to eventually get married. But that is not where their story ends. They are living their lives together, happy and loving one another. Until bad things happen to good people. This book made me cry... and I mean CRY with having to wipe my eyes and blow my nose and everything. I am now looking forward to reading the follow up to this book so that I can continue on with finding the happy ending! View all my reviews

Review: Addicted for Now

Image
Addicted for Now by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars I can honestly say that I love these books. I have become so in love with these characters that I can wait to read the next books. I love that its not a happily ever after, but more like a work in progress. I think that Lily and Lo are so realistic that they really could be any one of us. And they are working to make it work because they love each other. I know some people just want the romance and fairy tale endings... I like happy ending books too... but these can give hope to people who have any kind of issues that they are working through to make their happy ending. Now I am excited to go on and read about Conner and Ryke.... I love how they just inserted themselves into Lily and Lo's lives. It continues to be a series that I enjoy. The emotions that come from their lives, their problems are real for me. I have found myself crying at their sadness, their happiness, their triumphs and ...

Review: You Do Something to Me

Image
You Do Something to Me by Bella Andre My rating: 5 of 5 stars Another great Sullivan love story! I have followed them all and reading about the love this family has for each other and the love the fall into never gets old. Alec and Cordelia are a perfect example. They meet under the most stressful of circumstances. Alec could have been a total jerk and taken advantage of her, but instead he felt like he needed to protect her. Any story that has turmoil in the parental relationship will get tears from me every time! The way these 2 were there for each other, even under the guise of basically being friends with benefits was absolutely the sweetest thing that I have read in a long time. This is another great story that is full of sadness, a little angst and a whole lot of love!!! View all my reviews

Review: Dirty Flirting: Part One

Image
Dirty Flirting: Part One by Ava Alise My rating: 5 of 5 stars Holy heck this story was hot! Drexel and Kelsa were a great couple. I like how they work together, but not REALLY together. Kelsa refuses to put a label on what they have because she doesn't want to be in anything serious. But sometimes the heart just does what it wants. It ends on a very serious cliffhanger.... I could not put this book down. I started and finished it in one day. And now I am anxiously awaiting Part 2!!! View all my reviews

Review: Hear Me Roar

Image
Hear Me Roar by Dee Garcia My rating: 5 of 5 stars Welcome back to the world of Knox and Hazel. When we left these two they were moving in together. Hazel was still mourning the loss of her coach, and stand in father. She also had to look into where his daughter, Maya, was so that his will could be delivered to her….. In enters Maya. She left her father many years ago to be with a man that he did not like. Dimitri was 15 years older than her and her father did not approve of the relationship. Maya chose Dimitri over her father. It was not too long after the wedding that she seriously regretted that decision. Dimitri was an all-around bad guy. In addition to his illegal money making activities, he was also a wife beater. Maya was finally ready to get away from him. So she asked for help from the only person she could think of that was not in with her husband. When Maya asks Hazel for help, despite Hazel not being Maya’s biggest fan, she feels like she...

Review: Ricochet

Image
Ricochet by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars In this part of the series you get a better look into Daisy. This is the story of Lily and how she is working through her addiction alone. Dealing with herself while Loren is in rehab working on his. You get a lot more idea of how insecure she really is with her relationship with Loren…. And everyone else. She starts to see a therapist and gets to the bottom of why she has the insecurities that she has. A whole lot more insight into the mind of Lily Calloway. You also get to see how the people she has surrounded herself with refuse to let her self-destruct. A great bridge to the rest of the Lily and Lo story. View all my reviews

Review: Thrive

Image
Thrive by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars I dont think that I could love these characters any more.... I find myself hoping that the series never ends because I dont want to miss out on anything. And it isnt even just Lily and Lo, although I absolutely fell in love with them in the first book. Its all of them. I love Rose and Conner. I love Daisy and Ryke. The love they all have for each other is inspiring. I would definitely recommend this series to everyone. View all my reviews

Review: Fuel the Fire

Image
Fuel the Fire by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars I am just a huge fan of the "Addicted" series and also the "Calloway Sisters". I cant really pick a favorite character, but I have thought Connor was great since the very beginning. We all knew he was protective of his friends, his family. The way that these 6 people are there for each other no matter what is something that just makes you feel good. It gives you the idea that even when the story is over, anything that gets thrown at any one of them will turn out ok because they have each other. Its always hard to see such a great series end, and I know that it will have to soon, but it has been a great ride starting it all with 2 people who were basically self secluded and managed to pull all of these people into their lives. I look forward to anything else I can read about these great people. View all my reviews

Review: Addicted to You

Image
Addicted to You by Krista Ritchie My rating: 5 of 5 stars Lily and Loren are both addicts. Lily is addicted to sex, Loren to alcohol. They depend on each other to enable their behaviors. For years they keep to themselves so that they hide these addictions from their family. They start to allow people into their lives, becoming friends with them. That’s when it all starts to come out. Lo doesn’t do too good of a job hiding his drinking from their new friends. Lo finds out some other things about his life that he had no clue about. The story ends on a cliffhanger with Lo leaving Lily behind to battle her own addiction while he goes off to rehab. This is the first book in a multiple book series. It is a great introduction to the main characters that you will hear so much more about over the next many books. I fell in love with them all and love to read about them over and over again. I have now even listed to the audio, and it is fantastic! Should you w...

Review: My Best Friend's Ex

Image
My Best Friend's Ex by Meghan Quinn My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh how I adored this book! After reading Co-Wrecker and seeing that Tucker has his own story I knew that I had to ready it. Tucker was still mourning the loss of his girlfriend, who he thought was the love of his life, and their unborn child. Emma was the girl that always took care of everyone. This is a friends to lovers story that has way more than your typical FTL. They had know each other since childhood. But he was her best friend's ex boyfriend. That puts a whole new twist on it. They start to get together because she needs a place to live, and he has that house all to himself. So the flirting and hilarity begins.... It was a wonderful story. I found myself crying right along with Emma on a few occasions. And Racer was just hilarious! I cant wait to go read his story! View all my reviews
