Review: All About the D

Image
All About the D by Lex Martin My rating: 5 of 5 stars Evie and Josh are just about the cutest couple I have read about in quite some time. Josh is trying to get over a breakup. He had known Tiffany all his life, and was ready to ask her to marry him….until he caught her cheating. She even tried to blame it on him and his long work hours. So his best friend dares him to show his D to another woman. Josh thinks the best way to do that, since he doesn’t like hook-ups, is by posting a picture of it on a blog. It blew up from there. So now he needs an attorney to represent him in matters concerning this because he is getting all kinds of business offers. Since he doesn’t want his prominent family to know about his scandalous pass time he seeks out legal counsel from another firm. Evie got her foot in the door at the firm she works at because one of the main partners was friends with her family. She has been working really hard to prove that she belongs th...

Review: The Big O

Image
The Big O by Nelle L'Amour My rating: 4 of 5 stars This a total fairy tale of a book. A King, a princess and en evil step marketing director. Donut King is not doing well. Owen is trying to save the business started by his parents, and in walks Olive. She is there to be a part of a focus group. Olive is in a tough spot, unemployed and about to be evicted. But then Owen sees her, and her reaction to his donuts and instantly falls in lust. He calls her back to "talk" to her. He ends up offering her a "job" as his assistant. They fall in love, and it all moves so fast. There is a great story here, with a lot of sex, and then a twist at the end. It really was a great grown up version of a fairy tale where the handsome King swoops in saves the lady and carries her off to his castle. View all my reviews

Review: Shame Me Not

Image
Shame Me Not by Fiona Cole My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was super hyped up with in reader groups on Facebook. So I decided I needed to see what the fuss was about. I was not disappointed! This is a story of 2 people, Ana and Kevin, as they struggle to deal with their sexual preferences. They are neighbors. They find, as friends (both 16), that they see something in each other and become best friends because they can completely be themselves. Eventually it progresses into experimenting with each other. After some time they ended up having a falling out and went their separate ways. She comes back home toward the end of college and they end up being best friends again and then again progress to lovers. This book has so much more than just a lot of hot sex. They have a real friendship. They have relationships with other people. They have other real life problems. And along with it all is the constant fear that some one will find out what kind of ki...

Review: Star Struck

Image
Star Struck by Laurelin Paige My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is such a great story, right down to the cheesy "Hollywood" line at the end! Both Heather and Seth come from the same kind of background. The difference is that Seth has learned to embrace his past while Heather is still hiding from hers. He some how managed to work his way into her very exclusive inner circle. With Seth's help, Heather starts to own her past, she isn't exactly proud but she is on her way. The only problem now is that Seth has been hiding something about himself from her. When she finds out, she blows up like any good diva would! Now Seth has to find a way to get her to forgive him. As with almost all of Laurelin Paige books, I started to feel an ache in the pit of my stomach as the part with the major conflict was coming up. This lady always finds a way to make me cry while reading her books! View all my reviews

Review: Wreck Me: An Older Man, Younger Woman Romance

Image
Wreck Me: An Older Man, Younger Woman Romance by Lane Hart My rating: 5 of 5 stars ~*~*~*~*~Semi-spoiler-ish*~*~*~*~ I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Riley just graduated college and is going on a road trip to a beach house with her friends. Well one of them isn't really her friend. Sara doesn't like Riley at all. She thinks that Riley is easy and sleeps with everyone, including a guy that she was after. Brody was Sara's dad. When his wife left him and took their daughter she moved all the way to the other side of the country. So Brody and Sara has had a very strained relationship. Sleeping with his daughter's "friend" will not score him any points in the dad department while trying to repair a damaged relationship. But he finds that he can't stay away from Riley even if he wants to (not that he REALLY wants to). Riley has had a difficult time with men in the recent past. She has made herself believe that she is just as easy as Sara...

Review: Playing with Power Box Set - Books 1, 2, & 3

Image
Playing with Power Box Set - Books 1, 2, & 3 by Adele Huxley My rating: 5 of 5 stars Woah.... This was great. While reading it I never knew who she should trust. So much like real life. But I felt like it had a pretty good ending...although I really have to say that one was super disappointed in the stuff with Nick...I kinda think he was a bigger douche than Parker was. Review: That Man Trilogy

Image
That Man Trilogy by Nelle L'Amour My rating: 5 of 5 stars Holy goodness! I did not think I was going to LOVE this book as much as I did. This is your typical story of good girl meets bad boy. They fall in love... Shes always worried he will stray. He is always trying to prove himself. There were a couple times when my heart just ripped in half for Blake when Jennifer jumped to the wrongest conclusions. I got this trilogy when it was free on Amazon. I fell in love with it SO much that I have now purchased the 2 book story that follows it up. I will also but the ones about Jamie and Gloria... I think I have found a new author to book stalk and buy and read everything she has written. View all my reviews

Review: The Reclaiming of Ivy Leavold

Image
The Reclaiming of Ivy Leavold by Sierra Simone My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was great! I totally think that a whole lot of men need to read this book. How do you, as a new mother, be the wife you once were in combination with the mother you now are? How do you find your own identity? Sometimes a woman needs to be reminded of who she was before she was somebodies mother..... Julian decides to remind Ivy of who she is. She seemed to have forgotten that she was a very sexual being. Motherhood should not completely tame the wildcat that she always has been. You can be a mother and wildcat all at the same time. Julian reminded her in a very annoying way. But it drove the point home. And it was written in a way that I could literally feel her frustration. And my eyes began to tear up some of the time. View all my reviews

Review: The Punishment of Ivy Leavold

Image
The Punishment of Ivy Leavold by Sierra Simone My rating: 5 of 5 stars In this third book of the series, everything gets wrapped up rather nicely. Julian does go after Ivy. He vows to get her back. She tried to give him the engagement ring back and call off the engagement. But she never told him "bluebell" and once he realized that it gave him hope. He started to "court" her.... sort of. In his own way of coarse. Ivy was confused by this. What it all boils down to is can she live with the person that she is when she is with him? She has not yet realized that is who she is and that if she tried to pretend she is not she will suffocate herself. She goes to see an old "friend" who basically lets her know this, telling her what she already knows but I guess she needed to hear it from someone else. She finally comes to her senses and they reunite, at a party at the Baron's place where it is a sexual free for all! Her aunt...

Review: The Education of Ivy Leavold

Image
The Education of Ivy Leavold by Sierra Simone My rating: 5 of 5 stars In this 2nd book you get to see more of the intensity that you got from the first one. Ivy does agree to marry Julian. They head out to start buying her things for the wedding and getting her fitted for a dress. When they are there, she gets to see a bit more of what she is signing up for with this man in the form of a threesome with their friend they have run into. Ivy starts to feel conflicted. She finds more and more that Julian is the dark man that he has told her that he was. I am guessing she didn't believe him. Her biggest problem is that she finds that she LOVES the dark things that eh does to her. She starts feeling like she shouldn't want these things with him. She also continues to worry about his role in the death of her cousin. She eventually finds out that he was hiding from her the fact that she had another living relative. When she finds this out she then de...

Review: Ask Me Something

Image
Ask Me Something by Aubrey Bondurant My rating: 5 of 5 stars When I started Tell Me Something I thought it was a little slow to start... but then it quickly became one of my favorites. Now with Ask Me Something I was beyond excited when I saw that it had been released! I loved the characters in Tell Me Something so it is great to get the stories on them too. As well as getting a little Josh and Haylee update. I cant wait to see who the next book is about! You get the hint in Tell Me Something that there could be something with Sasha and Brian.... Sasha B Fierce and Brian are just about the cutest! Brian has this idea that he wants to be with Sasha (has wanted to for YEARS) but they are just friends. Sasha is attracted to Brian also, but concerned about how it would look for her career since they work together. She feels that a relationship with him may look like she slept her way into her position. But Brian has a plan to get her to be his. It all st...

Review: The Awakening of Ivy Leavold

Image
The Awakening of Ivy Leavold by Sierra Simone My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is my first Sierra Simone book. I have read the books she has done with Laurelin Paige, but this was the first of hers alone. She had me from there very beginning. I will admit that I didn’t read the blurb about it, I just one-clicked it and went to reading so the story was a complete surprise. This story was sent in the 1800’s. Ivy was left an orphan (which sounds odd when speaking of an adult). Parents died, brother gambled away all of the money, then he died. So times being what they were, ivy needed to move with some other family whether that was with someone else in her family, or she moved on to another family to be a governess. She really didn’t like that idea. She only had one living relative, her cousin Violet. So a letter was sent to her, who had recently married, to see about them taking on Ivy in their home. Julian Markham was the recipient of that letter. He was t...

Review: Cyanide

Image
Cyanide by Ella Fields My rating: 5 of 5 stars Jared was brought into my life when I read Frayed Silk. In that story I kept finding myself hoping that he was going to be mentioned more. Some people may have been rubbed the wrong way by him since he was trying to seduce a married woman. But I had a feeling that he was really just a big softy that was looking for love even if he did not want to admit it. Vera was a spoiled little rich girl. Dating a guy she does not really like just to make her daddy happy. This story follows her journey to independence! The break away from her daddy's money. What pushed her to severing the ties? Jared! The man from the wrong part of town. This book was hard to put down. I just wanted to keep reading. I wanted to see how Jared and Vera got through their obstacles. Through the last 4 or 5 chapters my heart was pounding! It did not return to normal until about 30 minutes after I finished the book. I laughed, I cried,...

Review: Redefining Us: A Reclusive Novel

Image
Redefining Us: A Reclusive Novel by Harloe Rae My rating: 5 of 5 stars Xander and Willow had been friends forever! They both kept their true feelings hidden from each other. When Xander was leaving after enlisting in the military they still didn't confess their love for each other. Like most young people, they figured they had the future to bring all that up. Xander never wrote to Willow once he was deployed. She did not hear a thing from him until 3 years later when his mom (through her mom) asked for Willow's help to get through to him. He had been through some bad stuff while over seas and was keeping away from everyone, including family and friends. So she goes out there to see what has become of her friend and the man she had always been in love with. This story is about the journey that Xander and Willow go though to find their way back to each other. The love they have. The struggles they go through to be together. Its a great story wi...

Review: Illicit Kisses

Image
Illicit Kisses by Kim Bailey My rating: 5 of 5 stars Super hot! I did not like Dylan in Complex Kisses. I thought he was a total jerk and kind of arriving to the party late, while blaming others for his tardiness. This story if his had me totally changing my opinion of him. I still feel like he was placing blame at the beginning, but then as the story went on he stopped blaming and started making decisions and taking responsibility. I also like that he finally stopped worrying about what the rest of the people thought of him. As soon as he stopped caring, they all started noticing positive changes in him. I feel like he still has some room to grow, but this showed a HUGE change in him and I was so impressed! View all my reviews

Review: Complex Kisses

Image
Complex Kisses by Kim Bailey My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was a fairly emotional book. I really love how Eric and Jamie met. I think that Caleb was the perfect match maker! Caleb is a teenage cancer patient at the hospital. He finds Jamie sitting alone and feels the need to try to cheer her up. Jamie is at the hospital because her father, who she hasn't seen in 10 years, is dying of cancer. As Caleb is talking to Jamie and making her smile by hitting on her, Eric walks up. He can see why his brother was drawn to her. Eric and Jamie basically try to become a distraction to each other. But then as they begin to share more about themselves with each other they start to develop more feelings. While neither one of them want to think too far into the future, they cant help but fall in love. Jamie not only has her dying father to deal with, but she also has a 9 year old son that she has left at home because she was not sure how he would handle a dying...

Review: Frayed Silk

Image
Frayed Silk by Ella Fields My rating: 5 of 5 stars "I want a divorce." These were the first 4 words of the book and that alone totally sucked me in! Leo and Dahlia have been married for a long time. He works. She stays home and takes care of the 2 kids. They have always been a very lovey couple. PDA's were normal for them. Then one day he just stopped. He basically withdrew, not just from her, but from their life together. She has tried for months to get him to come back to her. Nothing is working. He said no to the divorce, but that was not enough of a wake up call for him. So what do a lot of women do when their husband stops paying attention to them? She started to have an affair with someone that still thought she was worth the attention. Of coarse he finds out, and she finally finds out what was causing his withdrawn attitude. They work on getting through these things together! As I was reading this book I was hit with so many emot...
