Review: Envy

Image
Envy by Dylan Allen My rating: 5 of 5 stars A Sun and her Star! I don't know what it was, I had read only one other book by Dylan Allen before...but I just KNEW I HAD to read this book! And I was not wrong! One of the best books I have read this year. It had me from the very beginning with an angel falling from the sky and the hero who saved her. This is such a great love story of 2 friends who saved each other more than once. Graham had a very difficult childhood and then he met his Sunshine! The feels were very serious and real with this book! The love he has for his mother, the love he has for Apollo, the love he has for his friends... he was born to love deeply! He is the kind of boy in a story that you totally root for him to get his happy ending! Apollo was his happy ending! Now he just has to get her and keep her. The things that keep them apart were tearing my heart into pieces! And then just when you think they are going to get together...

Review: True North

Image
True North by Nicole French My rating: 5 of 5 stars I love Layla and Nico so much!!!!! This book was so many things.... but basically it was fan-freaking-tastic! I swear Nico and Layla have one of the most drama filled stories! Its hard to talk about without spoilers... and I say this because I don't want to ruin the first 2 books for anyone who has not read them. After the end of the last book, I was very happy to see that they were together in this book. But them being together does not keep them from having issues. Them being together brought on a whole other set of hurdles for them to get over. I have been so drawn in to their story that I am so proud of them! I cried tears of pain when they went though sadness and pain. I cried tears of joy when they had cause to celebrate. And when they each passed another milestone I felt the pride as if they were my own family! I could not have asked for a better wrap up to Nico and Layla's story! Ni...

Review: Last Chance to Fall

Image
Last Chance to Fall by Kelsey Kingsley My rating: 5 of 5 stars "What would you do if you weren't afraid?" This is the theme of the book! And it had me feeling all the feels! Sean and Lindsey had me all over the place. Fate brought them together in one of the oddest ways. And for 2 people that ALWAYS play it safe, for them both to just have this feeling that they need to spend time together! They must have seen something in each other that they knew they wanted to be a part of. While his brothers are falling in love all around him, Sean is just happy to keep on living his life as he always has. Even his best friend cant seem to get him out of his bubble. So what was it about Lindsey that made him feel like it was ok to let go? Oh and as he is falling for her, the things that he says to her just make your heart melt! This is absolutely a book that everyone who wants to swoon should get right now! There are some really hot scenes also! But...

Review: Dead or Alive

Image
Dead or Alive by Dee Garcia My rating: 4 of 5 stars I missed Eden and Xander! I am a huge fan of these 2. I want to see them make it! Only one thing kind of bothered me while reading this book. I just didn't feel as much suspense as I would have liked to. But I love the characters and I am totally in! I cant wait for part 2. I want to know what happens! (I hate cliffhangers!) As they spend time together while on the run you can see that these 2 are growing closer and closer. The family will have a heck of a time prying them apart. There was a thing or 2 that very much surprised me during the story that I really did not see coming at all! So I am quite eager to find out how that turns out as well..... Basically this was a great book and I think that everyone needs to read this series because its so good! View all my reviews

Review: Defenseless Hearts

Image
Defenseless Hearts by Meagan Brandy My rating: 5 of 5 stars Everyone needs their own 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 hero! I was so excited to get into Parker's story! I was so ready for him to get his HEA! I'm not going to lie... there were times when I wanted to jump right into the book and rip the woman's face off (I was a little disappointed that Lolli didn't do it, I totally thought she was going to). There was a lot of great back story as far as Parker's family and how he became the man that he is. There were a whole lot of people manipulating and backroom deals going on all around him. There were some serious struggles for all of the characters in this book (yep Lolli and Nate even had a couple issues between them). I fell in love with Parker during Fumbled Hearts 😍 and I was reminded of why! He was patient and understanding, even when it was breaking his heart to pieces to do so. It was a very emotional story in many ways. I laughed out loud ...

Review: Firsts

Image
Firsts by C.L. Matthews My rating: 4 of 5 stars WHAT. THE. F. DID. I. JUST. READ?!?!?!? I do not think I have EVER read a more taboo book in my life! I went in knowing it was going to a bit taboo. What I didn't know? That it was going to be DOUBLE TABOO! That it was going to be fan-freaking-tastic! (thought I thought it was going to be pretty great) That I was going to NOT want to put it down at all! I had thought that I was going to be #TeamBrax because I really did get quite mad at Silas. But then by the end I was all over #TeamSy!!! This book has all the great sides. The sweet best friend guy. The asshole older man. The crazy dad (or is he?). The young hot female in the process of exploring her body and feeling. Her sexuality is all her own.... or is it? This book had me hooked! I finished it in one day (would have been one setting if I didn't have to work...booooo grown up responsibilities!) I am super pumped for the next book! I. CANT. W...

Review: Rough Edge

Image
Rough Edge by C.D. Reiss My rating: 4 of 5 stars Woah! Ok so I am slightly confused (but I am sure that will get cleared up when the series continues). Then intensity in this book is OFF THE CHARTS!!! Greyson and Caden seem like the ideal couple. They are the perfect example of how you never know what goes on behind closed doors. How these 2 deal with the underlying issues..... sex. Not the nice hearts and flowers kind. As confused as I am, this is a fantastic book.... and I am eagerly awaiting the next installment! These characters have embedded themselves into my brain and into my heart. Intense! Sexy! Thought provoking! Great characters! A great start to what I think will be a phenomenal series! Review: Claiming Her: A Reverse Harem Romance

Image
Claiming Her: A Reverse Harem Romance by Angela Snyder My rating: 5 of 5 stars Holy crap! This was just about one of the hottest things I have read in a LONG time! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Trinity had her pick of the men.... so what does she do? She picks them all! 4 men sharing the same house in a post apocalyptic world. Then a woman stumbles into their field. They all want to stake their claim on her. She wants them all! (get it girl!) So the million dollar question is, with all these men and just one female, can they all really get along? Carter is the total playboy and I don't think that he is used to really competing for a woman. Lucas and Jack are both pretty alpha...large and in charge kind of men. Owen is the shy and quiet one, so he wouldn't really put up much of a fight.... unless she shows some serious interest. There is a twist and some suspense with all the zombies running around. Mostly it's super hot! It really took me less than a day to...

Review: Jeremy

Image
Jeremy by S.M. Shade My rating: 4 of 5 stars This was the first book that I read in the In Safe Hands series. I really liked it! And it gave me a look at some of the other characters from the earlier books, so now I want to go back and read them too! Jeremy is hot and troubled! Melissa was determined to make a new life for herself. But she had this super rude neighbor who liked to spend his time in a drunken state being the biggest jerk on the face of the earth. The enemies-to-lovers vibe in this story was fantastic! I loved how Jeremy tended to be hot then cold and Melissa really didn't know what to make of him. Their dynamic was super fun to read about. I really did "LOL" a few times. And it only took me one day to read! (I just happened to have the day off and started it this morning) So I was quite invested in finding out how everything played out. Definitely a great read. Not too angst-y (if that's even a word) with a little bi...

Review: Logan: A Steamy Older Man, Younger Woman Romance

Image
Logan: A Steamy Older Man, Younger Woman Romance by Lane Hart My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is another fantastic novel by Lane Hart! It was great to finally see Logan get a girl! Brayden seemed like just the right kind of woman to get him to loosen up . They had their time in Cancun which seemed like paradise! But reality of getting back home always changes everything! He was the total opposite of what she was used to in a man. She knew she wanted him but she didn't see how that would be possible. But Logan would not take that for an answer. He thought if she wanted to be with him, and he knew he wanted to be with her, that they should be able to make it happen. He didn't know what (or really more like who) was standing in the way. Totally great story! View all my reviews

Review: Pieces of Eight

Image
Pieces of Eight by Whitney Barbetti My rating: 5 of 5 stars Excuse me while I clear all the tissues off my computer desk! 😭😭😭 This book had all my emotions running wild! I love Mira! I was still on the fence about Six. I said with the last book (Six Feet Under) that I thought having his POV some would have been helpful. And at times I am sure that it would have. But after reading this book I totally get why it was all one sided. It worked better that way. If you read the first one (and I am sure you have) you know that this picks up right after she pushed him out of her life. This part of the story is about her journey to finding herself! To working her way toward loving herself. I am so in love with this story! I have known people with mental illness. I have known drug addicts and alcoholics. They are absolutely difficult to love! The connection these 2 have is just astounding! This story is not pretty. Its not something that would be for everyon...

Review: Bane

Image
Bane by L.J. Shen My rating: 5 of 5 stars Another fantastic book! And it tackled a very tough subject, rape! And more importantly, surviving rape. Bane, being the scary crazy looking guy that he is, would be the last person you would think a rape survivor would befriend when she has a hard time trusting anyone else. That's exactly why it works! He's blunt and has no problems talking about sex like it's nothing. He's safe. So she allows herself to trust him. The wait for these 2 to finally actually get together is excruciating! There is so much foreplay with these 2! (I say thing as a great thing). A lot of the time you will have these "slow burn" type books where there is a lot of tension with no relief at all. Not here. These 2 fool around like teenagers! 🔥🔥🔥 I was so excited to read this book and it was totally worth the wait! It was great and the characters were so easy to get behind! Absolutely one-click worthy! So yo...

Review: Fumbled Hearts

Image
Fumbled Hearts by Meagan Brandy My rating: 5 of 5 stars My heart couldn't take any more!!!! How much can one heart break before it is unable to be pieced back together??? 💔💔💔💔💔 I love a good football love story! I loved the characters in this story. Kalani was fantastic! She absolutely made him work for her attention! Nate was just about the sweetest "playboy". Parker is just the kind of friend every girl needs! And honestly I am still not entirely sure what the heck happened with Mia at the end. Don't even get me started on Olivia. 🤬 If I could slap a person through my kindle.... she would be at the top of the list! This love story was fun and sexy, with a great amount of heart break and scheming jerks. I did cry some real tears! 😭 😭😭 And I was very much rooting for Kalani and Nate to make up by the end. I am not going to lie, I was quite angry at him for a chapter or 2..... but he redeemed himself and I wanted him to get ...

Review: Bittersweet Always

Image
Bittersweet Always by Ella Fields My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh Ella!!! This book was something else! And I mean that in a GREAT way!!! Short version of this review is: Its a great story with a lot of feels and written by someone who KNOWS how to pull all those feels out of you! Go buy it now! The longer, rambling version of this review is: Let me preface this by saying that I have personal experience with a bipolar family member, and there is no borderline to it.... she can get off the charts! This story of Toby and Pippa was one that I was really looking forward to. Toby has a mental illness and falls for Pippa. Pippa has a bad experience with men suffering from mental illnesses. When she got together with him she was unaware that he has problems. But when she found out, THAT was when the true story began. That's when you got to the heart of the story. This was a story about a young couple who had severe issues and instead of running away, they wo...
