Review: Sweet Little Lies

Image
Sweet Little Lies by Sierra Hill My rating: 5 of 5 stars Woah!  I think I am head over heels in love with Lance and Mica!  This is a couple with some strength!  Their story begins with their friends getting together, so they meet.  Of course being the player that he is, he was hitting on her.  He had been warned by his friends not to mess with her since she is in their social circle.  They seem to keep ending up having make out sessions every now and then in the year and a half that they have been friends.  Lance does like to party, and he comes with a lot of baggage.  Things that Mica really cannot relate to.  But can she handle dealing with the baggage he comes with? This story is a great friends to lovers romance.  They have very serious issues that they face as a couple.  There was more than one point where I had to put my Kindle down because I couldn’t read through the tears…. Both happy and sad tears.  I am not going to lie, I did get a bit mad...

Review: Midnight Blue

Image
Midnight Blue by L.J. Shen My rating: 5 of 5 stars “If you leave me,” he said, “you take my soul with you.” What can I say about this book that hasn't already been said? Probably nothing.... so I may be saying things you have already heard....... Its hot! Alex is everything! Indie is badass! She really does know just how ti handle Alex. It made me swoon. It made me cry. It made me gasp in shock. There really were quite a few bombs dropped all in the span of 2 chapters! It was fantastic. I couldn't put it down. I stayed up way past my bedtime...... Like I said, you have probably heard it all. So then all I can say is why haven't you read it yet??? You are missing out on one of the best books of the year. (I do think this will be on quite a few "best of 2018" lists). So I strongly suggest you go now and get your copy so you can feel your heart flutter when you meet Alex, and be totally jealous of Indie for having the chance to be ...

Review: Make It To the Altar

Image
Make It To the Altar by Fiona Cole My rating: 5 of 5 stars It was so great to get more of Kevin and Ana! This story made it seem like everything was against them getting married... but Kevin reminded us all that he is in charge and gets what he wants! The love that he has for his Ana is the kind of love most women dream of! He takes such great care of her and always seems to know what she needs! Ana just seems to have a way of grounding Kevin when he starts to get too restless. Kevin and Ana are one of the GREAT couples. They show us that just because their love is unconventional, does not mean that it will not last! I think it might be fun to check back in with them 5 or more years in the future to see how they are handling life as a married couple and how they are with their children. I think I could probably get story updates about Kevin and Ana forever and be a happy girl. View all my reviews

Review: Love Me Like This

Image
Love Me Like This by Bella Andre My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is a great 2nd chance romance story. Taylor and Justin we the best of friends in college. One night they got drunk and kissed. The next day Taylor back tracked, gave the excuse about being drunk and not meaning to cross a line. Justin took it a face value. Then he was sent to Germany on a grant for research. 5 years later Justin is back in town for a family wedding, and reunited with Taylor. He wants to start up what he had always wanted in college. Taylor did not want to start anything because of the timing in her life. But life has a funny way of making things show up just when you need them. There were a couple parts that had me on the edge of freaking out or crying. I was happy that they got together and had a chance to work through things. Families had to put their opinions in. She had her ex-boyfriend show up to throw a wrench in the mix. The twists and pieces of drama had me not wan...

Review: Cowboy Casanova

Image
Cowboy Casanova by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars Another great story by Lorelei James! In this McKay novel she gives us more family drama. She also gives us a great example of how male dominance (in the bedroom) and female submission does not have to mean degrading the female. Ben McKay doesnt think he will ever find a woman that he wants to settle down with. He is into male dominance and doesn't think that he will ever find a woman that will have that relationship with him long term. He does not want the type of sub that he collars and bosses around all through their life. Then he meets Ainsley. She is not sure what she wants from a sexual relationship, she just knows that what she had with her ex-husband was not it. Ben and Ainsley get together and decided to try it out for a month. They also encounter some "real life" problems along the way. They have their work cut out for them. But if they can make it work... I bet that the...

Review: Suddenly Forbidden

Image
Suddenly Forbidden by Ella Fields My rating: 5 of 5 stars 💖💖"You and me....like the moon and the stars, we're permanent"💖💖 Ella has got a talent for pulling you in from the very beginning! Once I was actually able to get a little bit into the story (real life was getting in my way) I did not want to put it down.... I was staying up until I finished it! I would not have been able to sleep until I knew what happened to Daisy and Quinn!!! This is a fantastic story about first love.... the kind that starts before they even know what love is! Its the kind of story that has heartbreak written all over it! Daisy and Quinn were forced apart. Years later they reunite in college.... and that is when it all REALLY begins! I loved everything about this book! The love, the heartbreak, they betrayal, the feeling I had to punch a person or 2 in the face, the parents!!! OMG the meddling parents had me dying of laughter! I had high expectations goin...

Review: Cowgirls Don't Cry

Image
Cowgirls Don't Cry by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars Jessie had been married to Luke McKay, who was not a faithful husband. And then he died. Brandt had always had it bad for Jessie. That didn’t change when she married his brother, not did it change when his brother died. Turned out that before Luke died he left behind a piece of himself with one of his side ladies. When Luke’s son needed someone to talk care of him, it was Brandt and Jessie that took him in, despite how difficult it was going to be for her. The odd situation had Brandt and Jessie have found themselves in, ended up bringing them closer together. Brandt has always loved Jessie, but those feelings had not been returned. Until now…. Another great example of how these men in the McKay family can be so much alike and yet so different! They all seem to have that “I’m in charge” mentality but at the same time are really just big softies when it comes to the women they love. Jessi...

Review: Unwanted

Image
Unwanted by Leigh Lennon My rating: 5 of 5 stars Keep a box of tissues near by! From the very beginning this book had me by the heart strings! I did not bother to read the blurb so I really didn't know what it was about. My guess was it had something to do with an unwanted pregnancy. Right track of thinking..... not completely correct assumption. As a woman I can empathize with wanting a baby so badly. What I can not empathize with is then not wanting anything to do with that baby that I wanted. This story gives you a very emotional look into postpartum depression and the effects of a near death experience. Not just for the woman, but also for some of the family members that are also dealing with it. Leigh did a fantastic job of making me feel the heartbreak that the family was going through. I will most definitely think twice if I ever come across a woman going through this. Emma is a very real real character. And fortunately for her she has a g...

Review: Indiscretions of a God

Image
Indiscretions of a God by Sunniva Dee My rating: 4 of 5 stars Here is a fun story about a man who wants nothing to do with his "family business" aka the mafia. So instead he runs a company in the adult entertainment industry. SO who better than to catch his eye than a nun? He has to put in serious effort to get her, which is refreshing for him since most women fall in line to his so easily. There is some great action and some twists and turns along the way. I did have a hard time getting into it at the beginning, but once the story started moving it was difficult to put down. I really liked that there were some characters that I loved and some that I hated....I always love when a book has me loving and hating and feeling things on just about all sides. I really enjoy rooting for some people to make and while hoping others get punched in the face :) View all my reviews

Review: Chasin' Eight

Image
Chasin' Eight by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars What a powerful story! Chase and Ava are both fairly well known people. Ava is a TV/movie star. Chase is the bad boy bull rider. When they end up together by chance they take the opportunity to spend some time traveling together, just as friends. Being as they are both hot, young people, the “just friends” idea doesn’t last for long. There is also a whole lot of issues regarding bull riding safety that get brought into the mix. I felt a lot of emotions involved in this story. As always Ms James has a very well written story with lots of hot scenes. She has a way of also emphasizing the characters insecurities, and how they play into the relationships, without it all sounding whiney. Bring on Gavin’s story!!! View all my reviews

Review: My Enemy Next Door

Image
My Enemy Next Door by Whitney G. My rating: 5 of 5 stars OMG I LOVE COURTNEY AND JACE!!! The only thing that I did not like about this book was that I wanted it to be longer! This book is a great reminder that there are always 2 sides to every story. I like that you get flashbacks to them in high school and that you get the story from the dual points of view. It was a great short read (I finished it in one day) View all my reviews

Review: Raising Kane

Image
Raising Kane by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars Another great story of a hot cowboy who falls in love with a woman that he thinks is too good for him. Ginger comes with a ready-made family. Kane fell in love with her the first time he saw her when he came to meet her and her son for the little buddies/big buddies program. Over time he has also gotten to know her, and she him. There is an attraction there that neither of them act on until she takes a fall and he volunteers to take care of her and her family for a few days while she is laid up. It all comes together when he catches her trying to give herself a shower….. and let the hotness begin! Kane is ready to settle down, but he doesn’t think that she would want someone like him long term. That is where the problem lies….. hot cowboy takes charge with a woman who is always in control of everything around her. Absolutely a hot read. I love getting to know more and more of these hot McKay men a...

Review: The Consequence

Image
The Consequence by Giana Darling My rating: 5 of 5 stars "Your body is a compass and I am your true north" After pissing me off a time or 2 in The Secret, Sinclair became just about the sweetest most romantic guy I have read about in a long time. He always seemed to say the right thing to make Giselle feel better. By the end I was shedding some serious tears (and that was when I was in my car before work in the morning.... I'm sure my coworkers were very curious!) Giselle and Sinclair have that love that seems to only get stronger the more they go through. They didn't have it easy! This is absolutely a story that I think everyone should read. View all my reviews

Review: Broken Arrow

Image
Broken Arrow by Nicole French My rating: 5 of 5 stars “How do you find true north when your compass is broken?” This is the prequel to Bad Idea. Now you get to see where Nico is coming from. I think that this was a great portrayal of a time in his life when he met some of the most influential to him. Nico was given the opportunity to get out of the life he was headed towards. He was smart enough to jump at the chances that were offered to him. Just reading this has made me adore Nico even more!!! View all my reviews

Review: The Secret

Image
The Secret by Giana Darling My rating: 5 of 5 stars "You have free reign to dissect my soul, it is yours to do with as you please.” Gah!!! As of the end of this book I am freaking the f*ck out! My heart pounding in my throat. The butterflies (actually more like bats) flapping a mile a second. Giana has got me on the edge of my seat. I am so into this story that I really cant wait (and I dont plan to) to get into the conclusion of Elle and Sinclair! All I can say is that I am so happy that I did not get into this trilogy until it was completed. I could NOT imagine having to wait for the next book to come out! View all my reviews

Review: The Affair

Image
The Affair by Giana Darling My rating: 5 of 5 stars "No mortal man should hold a siren in his arms, but you’ve given me the opportunity of a life time.” Elle meets Sinclair on the plane to Mexico. There was instant flames! They start a super hot holiday affair. It was a great story of their time together. I fell in love with this couple that was not supposed to fall in love with each other. I am so excited to get into The Secret to see what happens with them!!! View all my reviews

Review: All Jacked Up

Image
All Jacked Up by Lorelei James My rating: 5 of 5 stars It was only a matter of time before Keely and Jack got together. We have been seeing this coming for years now! And it finally happens. This story could not have been more perfect! Knowing what we know about Keely, and Jack, there was no other way that they would have gotten together. They are working together to help each other get a head in their careers. She needs his help with the restoration of a historical building, he needs a wife to try to win a contract. They settle on being engaged. But its got to be real. So her whole family and his (including his bother that Keely dated for a while) had to be informed of the engagement. Well you cant live together and act all lovey in public without it spilling into real life. Not to mention the chemistry they have always had. I am a sucker for the “brother best friend” story. I also love a good enemies to lovers tale. This story told BOTH! It was hot...
